Adele Says She Will Never Become An EGOT Winner Because She Hates Musicals
Somber songstress Adele loves to serenade us into pools of tears about love, loss, and all of the things in between. However, what she will not be doing is singing any of her lullabies of lament on a Broadway stage. Because apparently, although Adele has already scored herself an Emmy, an Oscar, and a public storage unit full of Grammys, she refuses to do any musicals ever. Because, as she proudly states, she absolutely fucking hates musicals.
Insider reports during the final episode of the road trip from Hell known as Carpool Karaoke, cantankerous cherub James Corden brought up the subject of the EGOT. James was, of course, rolling in the deep end of his ass-kissing ways when he gushed about Adele potentially becoming an EGOT if she secured a Tony. But instead of Adele requesting James and the people running in front of the car with ropes and harnesses to pull over and let her out, she sharpened her claws and ripped James’ heart out with her response.
“I really don’t think that that is ever gonna happen,” the “Skyfall” singer said. “I would never write a musical or anything like that because I fucking hate musicals. I fucking hate musicals. I don’t think I’ve ever said how much I fucking hate musicals.”
Now mind you, James is slated to appear in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked, and he’s also been in a few horribly executed musicals like the fetid clump of kitty litter known as Cats. Could this have been Adele’s way of saying, “No one wants to hear you sing, babes.” Or was she just being her normal, non-filter-having self? In an attempt for clarification, or simply not trying to angrily ask, “Bitch, what you try’na say then??” James dug a little deeper and asked if Adele respected the craft of musicals, and she once again explained her answer with her entire chest.
Corden then clarified that Adele does “respect” the art form of musicals.
The “Hello” singer added: “Absolutely. I just don’t need to hear everything in fucking song all the time. I also think the EGO suits me better.”
Translation “I said what I said!” and I bet you they’ll never have this conversation again. Actually, they’ll probably never speak in life ever again because Adele made sure she let James know her EGO is way bigger than his will ever be.
