Halle Berry And Angelina Jolie Are Teaming Up For The First Time In An Action Movie
When it comes to action movies, there aren’t many actresses who can pull off kicking villains in the nuts before leaping across rooftops like an alleycat on acid. However, two Oscar-winning stars of the action genre, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie, have provided a few films where they trade in dramatic roles for flips and spins as the hero we never saw coming. Sure, there are exceptions to their offerings like Catwoman, which stunk worse than week-old kitty litter. And Angelina didn’t necessarily cast a spell over audiences with her turn in The Eternals. But maybe they’ll have better luck together. As it’s being reported that they will star in and produce the action film, Maude v Maude. And sadly, the movie doesn’t follow a battle royale between Maude Findlay and Maude Flanders.
According to Deadline, Angelina and Halle are finally bringing their star power to a joint project that’s either going to be a blockbuster or another film they’ll both receive Razzie nominations for. As of now, things are still in the early stages, but since there was a bidding war over this project, it will more than likely be heavily marketed ahead of its release.
Following an intense multi-studio bidding war that went into the weekend, Warner Bros has landed the package Maude v Maude, with Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry attached to star.
Roseanne Liang is on board to direct from Scott Mosier’s script. Berry and Jolie will produce along with Berry’s producing partner Holly Jeter via their banner HalleHolly, along with Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth who will produce through RK Films. Mosier and Liang will exec produce.
Exact details are being kept under wraps, but and insider describes the pic as a “Bond vs. Bourne” type of global action thriller with locations to be announced.
While they’re traveling the world and collecting a huge check to kick each other’s asses, Halle and Angie can bond over their similarities, like their Oscars and their messy, messy custody fights. Actually, maybe that’s what’s really going on here. They didn’t team up for a movie. They teamed up to help take down each other’s exes!
