Paris Hilton Named Her Son Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum

Paris Hilton revealed the name of her and Carter Reum’s baby boy, who was born via surrogate last month. And yes, Paris followed in the footsteps of her parents and named her kid after a city. Lemme guess… Mesquite? Shreveport? Boise? All gorgeous options. But Paris went with something that she felt symbolized life’s “disasters and triumphs”: Phoenix. Huh. I woulda gone with something more literal, like Warsaw, but you do you, Paris.

Baby Phoenix’s full name is Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum. Obviously, he’s named after Paris’ younger brother, Barron Hilton II, and/or grandfather, Barron Hilton I. Old Barron was the son of Conrad Hilton, the Hilton family patriarch. He passed in 2019. Young Barron is the Hilton brother who got a DUI in 2008. Paris’ other brother, Conrad Hilton III,  was the one who had an asshole meltdown on a plane in 2015. I guess Paris chose to name her baby after the lesser of two evils.

Yahoo! reports that Paris broke the news on this week’s episode of her podcast, This is Paris:

“Phoenix has a few good pop culture reference points, but more important, it’s the bird that flames out and rises from the ashes to fly again,” Hilton said, reading an excerpt from her upcoming memoir. “I want my son to grow up knowing disaster and triumph go around and come around throughout our lives.”

Earlier in the podcast, the heiress shared that she found inspiration in “cities, countries and states,” keeping in theme with her own first name. After passing on “Ibiza,” “Vegas” and “Aspen,” Hilton said she settled on Phoenix “over a decade ago.”

Here’s the clip of Paris reading her memoir:

She also posted a picture of her new baby on Instagram. Wow, what a raw, unfiltered photo:

Last January, Paris went on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and talked to Ellen DeGeneres about potentially having a baby. Ellen asked if Paris wanted to name her future baby after a country or city. Paris confirmed that she would, and Ellen made two guesses: Argentina and PHOENIX. Ellen (or, more likely, her long-suffering social media assistant) celebrated her lucky guess on social media:

Goddammit, Ellen. Even from the talk show grave, you can’t help but ruin everything!
