Cynthia Bailey Of “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” Is Getting Divorced After Two Years Of Marriage

Former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Cynthia Bailey is heading for divorce from her husband of two years, Mike Hill. Cynthia’s bachelorette party was the hot topic of the 13th season when there was a threesome involving a SEXY stripper. While the party got sexy, Cynthia proved too boring for the series and was dropped after she got her 250-person COVID wedding some Bravo coverage. But maybe a single Cynthia can get her groove back! She’s gotta do something because now she’s out of a gig and a husband.

This is 55-year-old Cynthia’s second marriage–she was married to 62-year-old Peter Thomas from 2010 to 2017. She met 52-year-old Mike in 2018, and they married two years later. And now two years after that, it’s over. Two is a magical number! A bad one, but… well, anyway… hopefully, those 250 people enjoyed celebrating during a pandemic a marriage that lasted less time than Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, and no one got COVID for a flash-in-the-pan marriage.

Mike proposed to Cynthia on the show during season 12, and maybe if she acts fast enough, Cynthia can divorce him in season 15, although it seems to be amicable for now so we’ll see if that’s dramatic enough a plotline. She and Mike gave statements about their divorce–several, in fact. There was one to People from Cynthia:

“God does not make mistakes! I truly believe in my heart Mike coming into my life was destiny. I jumped in, both feet first and gave it my all.”

“Although that journey has come to an end,” she continued, “I am so grateful for our continued friendship, and the beautiful memories that we made together. God willing, I will find love again. Whatever is destined to be, will be; and I could not be more excited for my next chapter!”

“I pray my friends, family, and fans will continue to be along for the ride with me in this awesome thing we call “life!” Thank you for your continued prayers, support, and well wishes.”

And Mike also spoke to People:

“I love Cynthia and will always love her because she is a phenomenal woman and a beautiful person.”

“Even though our relationship is ending, our friendship remains rock solid and for that I am grateful,” he continued. “Honestly, we’ve been thinking about going our separate ways for the last few months, so it was good for us both to have that time to process it all privately and I can smile knowing she’ll always be there for me as I will be for her.”

And Cynthia posted about the split on Instagram:

And because clearly, Cynthia had the time, she talked more to People and denied that Mike Hill cheated on her and they just “outgrew” each other in a few years:

Asked if infidelity was one of the things that drove them apart — given that Bailey and Hill had dismissed affair rumors in the past and that Hill had opened up on RHOA about how he had apologized to his exes for cheating on them — Bailey denied that was an issue.

“There was no infidelity to my knowledge. Mike never had sex with another woman during our marriage,” she says. “At the end of the day, it just came down to a number of things. And I respect Mike and respect our marriage too much to go into the details of those things, but it was nothing scandalous, we just outgrew each other.”

The timing of this divorce is pretty spectacular because their second wedding anniversary was literally three days ago. Yikes. But several statements about the end of a two-year marriage. Okay.

After Shereé Whitfield and Marlo Hampton became main cast members last season and did not do anything to bring the drama, Andy Cohen should be expecting a phone call from Cynthia. If she rebrands herself from being boring and pitches her next appearance as an over-the-top divorcée ready to mingle–and drink too much–I think that Andy would welcome her with open arms!
