Cynthia Bailey Of “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” Got Married In Front of 250 People During The Pandemic

I think the recurring motto among reality television attention whores is “The Show Must Go On!”. If you need proof, go holler at Cynthia Bailey from The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Because while most of us are struggling with social distancing and getting drunk with our friends via House Party, Cynthia had a whole wedding with 250 guests. Hopefully one of those guests wasn’t COVID, because this sounds like a recipe for NOT stopping the spread.

Personally, if someone told me they were having a wedding I would send them their little $25 Target gift card in the mail and have a shot for them at home because I don’t do crowds or large gatherings in 2020. Why you ask? CORONAVIRUS!!! (in my Cardi B voice). Apparently, Cynthia doesn’t feel the same way and has decided COVID is OVAH! Well, for her at least because according to People Cynthia and her new husband Mike Hill risked it all for their trek down the aisle this past Saturday.

“Mike and I are elated that today has finally come! 10/10/20 is and always will be our perfect date. We are not perfect, but, are perfect for each other,” the newlyweds tell PEOPLE. “We are living in a very different time, and now more than ever we realize that life is too short, and to never take anything for granted. We are so grateful to have found each other. Love with the help of God conquers all.”

Girl stop. You and Mike could have had a quick twenty-minute Zoom meeting with a preacher in the comfort of your own home and then had a two-person reception courtesy of Door Dash. But Nooooo. You had to break out your fancy clothes and make a big production out of your nuptials.

Aside from having the venue deep cleaned and performing temperature checks at the door, Cynthia and Mike also implemented the necessary precautions.

“Everyone has to wash their hands before coming inside and we will have hand sanitizing stations throughout the venue,” said the reality star. “And everyone must be wearing a mask at all times, it’s not optional.”

“We want to make people feel comfortable and not look irresponsible,” added Hill. “We’re doing everything we possibly can.”

Of course, she wasn’t alone at this ill-advised gathering. Among her guest list were fellow RHOA castmates Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and Top Model throwback Eva Marcille, who was one of Cynthia’s bridesmaids.

This is Cynthia’s second marriage. She was married to Peter Thomas for seven years. And this is Mike’s third marriage.

I’m sure Bravo had their cameras aimed and ready to capture all of this fuckery because they’re preparing for a very special episode of RHOA where Cynthia learns one of her guests came down with COVID. And that’s the kind of unfortunate situation that will make Andy Cohen long for the days when the only virus he had to deal with was NeNe.
