Shereé Whitfield And Marlo Hampton Are Joining The Next Season Of “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” As Main Cast Members
After last season, which was season 13, of Real Housewives Of Atlanta, Porsha Williams and Cynthia Bailey both turned in their peaches. Porsha was the messy one (besides Kenya Moore, who thankfully is still on) but Cynthia was pretty boring so really this was a case of potentially losing the drama of the series thanks to Porsha not being there. Andy Cohen must have known this since he’s no dummy and knows how to formulate a social situation in order to maximize the number of women fighting with each other. So he finally bumped up Marlo Hampton to a full-time housewife after she’s appeared on the show seven different seasons as a friend. And also returning is Shereé Whitfield one of the OG Atlanta housewives. I wonder if her She by Shereé fashion line will actually release this time around? Spoiler Alert: probably not.
Variety says the new cast was revealed after deals closed on Monday with the stars. Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora will return to fight with Shereé and Marlo, and also a new cast member, four-time Olympic Gold medalist track star Sanya Richards-Ross is jumping straight to full-time housewife. Sanya previously was in a reality show on WeTV in 2013–Sanya’s Glam and Gold. It only lasted one season. Let’s hope she lasts longer on Housewives.
Cynthia has said she was offered to appear as a friend of the housewives but declined. And friends from the past season also won’t be returning; Tanya Sam disappeared from filming the thirteenth season after being accused of having a threesome with Porsha and stripper Bolo at Cynthia’s bachelorette. But I mean if I got to bang this:
I would quit while I was ahead, too! Other “friends” of the Housewives, Latoya Ali and Falynn Guobadia, are also not returning.
Variety also reports that Shereé’s partner, a man named Tyrone Gillians, is finally out of prison after being sentenced to 10 years for wire fraud. Tyrone was released early in February this year because of COVID after serving eight years of his ten-year sentence. So there’s Shereé storyline.
I’m sort of amazed they didn’t ask Kim Zolciak to come back, to be honest. She could easily have supplied mess and drama to make up for Porsha’s exit. Maybe it’s because she may have another reality show after Don’t Be Tardy was finally canceled. Or maybe it’s because Andy doesn’t want any white people on RHOA? Surprise Kim hasn’t pulled a NeNe Leakes and called Bravo out for reverse-racial discrimination
