Brad Pitt Accuses Angelina Jolie Of Purposely Selling Her Château Miraval Winery Shares To “Inflict Harm” On Him

56-year-old Brad Pitt and 47-year-old Angelina Jolie just can’t quit each other–I mean–can’t quit legally dragging each other. Sorry forgot that middle part. In 2008, the couple bought a winery in the South of France, Château Miraval, where they eventually got married in 2014. Obviously, they filed for divorce in 2016 and shit has been consistently hitting the fan for them ever since. And the Château is no exception. Brad previously tried to stop Angelina from selling her shares in the Château post-divorce, but a judge let her last year. Then he sued Angie because he said the group she sold her shares to was owned by a competitor, the Stoli Group, and working with them was Hell. Welp, part two to that: Brad is now accusing Angelina of purposely selling her shares to ruin Brad and the wine business. Purposely tanking a wine business as an act of petty revenge? Just Rich Bitch Things!

People says that Brad’s team claims that Angie sold her shares to a “stranger” and intentionally “sought to inflict harm on” Brad and the wine company. In legal documents filed last Friday in LA Superior Court, Brad says that Miraval became a “passion” project which grew “into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world’s most highly regarded producers of rosé wine.” Which is news to me because I thought the best rosé wine in the world is the one that comes in a box and costs $15. Brad says that the booming business is all thanks to him, and Angie contributed “nothing to Miraval’s success.” The filing also says that Angie planned to sell her shares to Tenute del Mondo–and now they are “bent on taking control of Miraval” as the company is “indirectly owned and controlled by Yuri Shefler, the Russian billionaire who controls the Stoli Group.” via People:

“Jolie pursued and then consummated the purported sale in secret, purposely keeping Pitt in the dark, and knowingly violating Pitt’s contractual rights,” reads the filing from Pitt’s team.

Pitt’s lawsuit claims that Jolie’s business Nouvel owed his company Mondo Bongo the right of first refusal, and the sale infringed on that right.

Pitt’s team says Shefler launched a hostile takeover of Miraval and is trying to get ahold of “confidential and proprietary information for the benefit of his competing enterprise.” The documents accuse Shefler of having “cutthroat business tactics and dubious professional associations,” which in turn “jeopardizes the reputation of the brand Pitt so carefully built.” They add: “Jolie has sought to force Pitt into partnership with a stranger, and worse yet, a stranger with poisonous associations and intentions.”

Pitt is seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial” plus the purported sale made by Jolie to be declared “null and void.”

Brad wants a trial by jury and accuses Angelina of “breach of an implied-in-fact contract; breach of quasi-contract, pleaded in the alternative; breach of implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing; abuse of rights under Article 6-1 of the Luxembourg Civil Code; tortious interference with contractual relations; tortious interference with prospective business relations; and constructive trust.”

So Angie and Brad are continuing to fight (What else is new?), but I’m sure this isn’t the last lawsuit between these messes. Don’t be surprised if we hear that the faulty and dangerous Make It Right homes that Brad’s charity built for Hurricane Katrina victims were made out of wood that St. Angie Jo cursed with a dark-sided spell.
