Open Post: Hosted By The Most Responsible Kitten In The World

Meet Binx. Binx is a 6-week-old black kitten with stunning blue eyes. The only cute-baby-duties this little guy should be concerned with is ESP (eat, sleep, play). But because he was born on the mean streets of Kansas City, Missouri, Binx also had to fight for his life… and the lives of his three orphan kittens. That’s right, Binx was discovered taking care of a trio of newborns whose birth mother was nowhere to be found. A local animal rescue group, KC Pet Project, has named Binx “the most responsible kitten in the world.” Damn, this is like when parents hire 12-year-olds to babysit their 10-year-olds. Babies babysitting babies!

KC Pet Project spokesperson Tori Fugate told the Huffington Post that the person who found Binx and the kittens (all little boys) initially waited around to see if a mother cat showed up. But she never did. So the good samaritan brought Binx and his little charges to the shelter. Baby kittens need milk from their mom or a bottle, and obviously, Binx couldn’t give them that. But Tori says that he appeared to look out for “the little ones” “as best he could.” She adds that Binx and his babies (since named Ollie , Frankie, and Ziggy) are “doing great so far.” They all went to a foster home together, “because how could we split them up?” You couldn’t, Tori. It wouldn’t be right.

Here’s KC Pet Project’s Facebook post about Binx and his kitten babies:

Sweet Binx has proven himself to be an effective daddy-cat, so maybe he should get adopted by a family in need of a responsible parental figure. Might I suggest, ohhhh I dunno, the Duggars? Give Josh and Anna’s seven kids a fighting chance? No, actually, that wouldn’t be safe… for Binx.
