Kanye West’s Failed Presidential Campaign Claims That It Was Robbed Of Almost $4,000 In Misused Funds After Getting Called Out By The FEC

Kanye West‘s campaign for President of the United States was a flop and ate up millions–$6 million of which was his own–but who cares about that! Except the Federal Election Commission cares. The FEC is apparently after Kanye for some potentially misused funds. The group is still investigating and sent the campaign entity, Kanye 2020, a “Request for Additional Information” regarding three suspicious transactions. Well, Kanye 2020 has an answer, and wouldn’t you know?! They were robbed! They claim three payments to a credit card totaling $3,999 were swindled out from under them.

The Kanye 2020 campaign cost $13.2 million, managed to get less than 70,000 votes IN TOTAL, and his publicist, Trevian Kutti, was caught on a recording allegedly pressuring an election official in Georgia to change election results. But that’s not all the fuckery, it never ends with Kanye.TMZ says that Kanye 2020 sent a letter yesterday to the FEC that they got their hands on and in it, the campaign claims no direct responsibility for three transactions made between last December and this February. Which is not Presidential election season!

Kanye 2020 told the Federal Election Commission someone unaffiliated with the campaign accessed the committee’s bank account, swiping $3,999 to pay off their own credit card bills.

In a letter fired off Tuesday to the FEC, and obtained by TMZ, Kanye 2020 says an investigation determined someone accessed the account three times between December and February, and the campaign was unable to get the money back from the First Bank of Wyoming.

The FEC previously flagged the transactions and Kanye’s campaign took a look and is now claiming they were the victim here. There doesn’t appear to have been an arrest made yet, and it appears the FEC is working to gather more info.

In the letter the campaign said, via Billboard:

“After investigating, it was determined that an individual not connected with the campaign accessed a campaign account to pay his own credit card… It was reported to First Bank of Wyoming and a stop-pay was put in place to protect against future unauthorized charges. The bank was unable to reverse the transactions at issue.”

Silly Kanye. If he’s going to try to illicitly stash money in a campaign fun, he’s barking up the wrong tree. He should ask his ex-mother-in-law, who he still really likes, Kris Jenner, about her “church.”
