Wendy Williams Is Reportedly Considering Legal Action Over Losing Her Talk Show

Since 2019, Wendy Williams was in and out of her daytime talk show The Wendy Williams Show to deal with all sorts of issues including her Graves disease. The majority of her show’s past season was hosted by rotating guest-hosts including Sherri Shepherd. And last month, it was announced that Wendy’s show is coming to an end and Sherri Shepherd will host her own show, Sherri, starting this fall. Well, Wendy is reportedly pissed. RadarOnline has sources who say that Wendy is ready for court. She’s allegedly planning to take her bosses at Debmar-Mercury and Sherri Shepherd to court.

Sources say that Wendy is pretty furious that she basically got fired while on sick leave. But to be fair to her bosses, her sick leave was like a year and a half on and off. Still, the sting of a firing hurts, I remember when the clothing store Bluenotes fired me at 16 for not showing up to my shifts. It hurt!

“This isn’t right and Wendy isn’t going to take this… She is considering legal action against her producers and is also deciding on what to do about Sherri Shepherd. Sherri was supposed to be a friend filling in for Wendy while she was sick, but instead, Sherri stabbed Wendy in the back. If anyone thinks Wendy is going to disappear without a fight they are a fool.”

“…You can’t just fire someone after a decade because they are sick,” added a friend who could not produce a single law prohibiting what has occurred.

“Wendy has been reading the news where Chris Cuomo is suing CNN for $60 million and Megyn Kelly got $60 million when she was kicked out of NBC. Knowing Wendy, she will think she can get the same amount too. This is going to get ugly. She was hired because of her big mouth, well now that big mouth is going to bite the hand that fed her.”

While announcing Sherri’s new show, the Presidents of Deb-Merc, Mort Marcus and Ira Bernstein, said that they have “a great love and affinity for Wendy, who grew into a true icon,” but because she’s “still not available to host the show as she continues on her road to recovery,” they believe it’s best to begin a“transition” to a new show. They wished Wendy the best, as did Sherri, who also said that “if it wasn’t for Wendy the eyes wouldn’t have been on me. I’m so thankful to her. We’re all praying for her.”

Sources also claim that Sherri wants Wendy as a guest. Sherri shouldn’t hold her breath if Radar’s sources are telling the truth. Because sources say that Wendy believes shamelessly Sherri stole her show.

“Wendy is not the “pass the baton” type of person. As far as she is concerned, Sherri went behind her back and stole her show. The fact that Sherri now wants Wendy to support her and give her blessing is as fake as it comes… Don’t worry Sherri, when Wendy is ready to tell her side of the story she will do so, and not sitting next to you on her old couch, but rather in court.”

As RADAR reported first, Williams is planning to take legal action after essentially getting fired from her own show while out sick. “Sherri can save her gratitude and prayers for Wendy. What she did to a sick woman isn’t right and she knows it,” adds a pal. “But don’t count Wendy out. She has been down before and fought her way back. And when Wendy is back, she will remember what Sherri did.”

Wendy hasn’t made any legal moves yet, despite all these sources claiming she’s about to make some.

I think we all knew that Wendy would not go gently into that good night. If there’s one thing we could all see coming it was Wendy being dragged kicking and screaming. The ghost of Whitney Houston must be absolutely cackling. Sherri is about to wake up to an mp3 file in her email from an anonymous sender and the mp3 is going to be Whitney singing, “OoooohhhhH! This is NOT the Wendy Williams Show! No! Noooooo!” It can be the theme song for Sherri!
