Former “Bachelor” Colton Underwood Got Engaged To Jordan C. Brown

Full disclosure: up until five minutes ago, I thought Colton Underwood was the football player who came out as gay last year. I mean, technically he is, but I was thinking of Carl Nassib. Nope, Colton Underwood is the former football player and Bachelor star who came out as gay last year. He also starred in the recent Netflix reality show Coming Out Colton. And, um, his ex from The Bachelor, Cassie Randolph, got a restraining order against him for harassing and stalking her after their break up. Now Colton can add “fiancé” to his list of descriptors: over the weekend he got engaged to his boyfriend, Jordan C. Brown.

Colton, 30, and political strategist Jordan, 39, have been dating since last summer. Colton publicly came out a few months before in April. The couple only went Instagram-official last December. Colton tells People:

“After my birthday, Jordan and I went to Big Sur for a weekend getaway to decompress and relax in nature,” Underwood tells PEOPLE. “I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful place to celebrate an amazing milestone in my life and relationship.”

“I’m extremely happy! 2021 was the most transformative year of my life,” he continues. “Starting 2022 off with my best friend, teammate and now fiancé is something I never thought was going to be possible.”

In December Colton told People that he “wasn’t really pursuing dating” when he first came out. But since then, “I found somebody and I am very much in love.” Here’s Colton’s post about his engagement:

And Jordan’s post:

This is Colton’s first engagement. Even though a lot of The Bachelor leads propose at the end of their season, Colton never popped the question to Cassie. During the show he was very vocal about his choice to remain a virgin, but, according to Colton’s pre-coming-out memoir, he finally popped his cherry (blegh) with Cassie in The Bachelor fantasy suite. Pre-reality fame Colton dated Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman.

It’s too bad Colton and Jordan got together so fast. I feel like Colton coulda squeezed more attention out of being a recently-out gay single. Now, who’s gonna be the first openly gay Bachelor? Carl Nassib? Actually, sure, that works. Definitely a less problematic choice. Unless those Trumper rumors are true.
