Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap fats, femmes and Asians at a single bound! Look! Up in the sky! It’s Colton Underwood’s career post-coming out! In the time it took for me to finish my coffee and take a dump, Colton has already gone from newly out former Bachelor to a newly out Netflix reality star. According to Variety, the show is already in production and Olympic skier Gus Kenworthywill appear in the series, acting as a guide.” Hopefully Gus can help Colton learn the right way to get someone’s attention without resorting to (alleged) stalking.

Colton’s not wasting any time and has wiped his entire Instagram feed in preparation for this next stage in his life. Variety reports:

Colton Underwood, former star of “The Bachelor,” is getting his own reality show at Netflix, Variety has learned.

The project, which is currently in production, is an unscripted series with multiple episodes, numerous sources tell Variety, describing the project as focusing on Underwood living his life publicly as a gay man.

Netflix declined to comment on the project.

While the full scope of the series is under wraps, an insider tells Variety that Olympian Gus Kenworthy will appear in the series, acting as a guide, of sorts, for Underwood.

No word yet on when the series will launch, though a source close to production says Underwood is currently filming.

I’m sure ABC is livid they didn’t get the jump on Colton’s post-coming out shine before Netflix swooped in. They were so excited to promote a virgin former NFL football player that they took their eye off the ball and completely missed their shot! According to Out:

Underwood, who grew up with a strong Catholic background, later said he regretted his time on the show, but said the time spent on the Bachelor franchises helped him confront his sexuality. Before gaining fame for his virginal dating adventures, Underwood had been a tight end at Illinois State, and later with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, and Philadelphia Eagles.

The new Netflix series will reportedly center Underwood’s intersectional experiences as a both gay man and professional athlete.

I guess that explains Gus’ participation. Too bad there are literally no other LBGTQ+ athletes who might have been cast. Not a single one (with over a million followers). And poor Gus can’t help the way he looks!

With or without Chet Hanks‘ help, White Boy Summer seems like a tragic inevitability.
