More Details Have Been Released About Garret Hedlund’s Public Intoxication Arrest

On Saturday night, Garrett Hedlund was arrested for public intoxication in Franklin County, TN. This came after we learned that Garrett has been sued for allegedly causing a horrific car crash in 2020 while four times over the legal booze limit of 0.08. And also after we learned that Garett and Emma Roberts, who share a 1-year-old son, Rhodes, called it quits “following a rocky few months in their relationship.”  Now there are more details about his Saturday night arrest, and it turns out he was so plastered he caused “unreasonable annoyance.” Officially.

According to TMZ, a man called the cops on Garrett around 10:30 pm. He claimed the 37-year-old actor was banging on the rear door of a building. When police arrived, Garrett reeked of booze, his speech was slurred, and he couldn’t follow commands. Apparently, Garrett claimed that he was trying to get back into the building cuz he left some stuff inside. In the report, police wrote that their investigation led them to believe Garrett was intoxicated (what gave it away?), and he was a danger to himself and others. They arrested him for public intoxication, and wrote in the report that he had caused “unreasonable annoyance.”

The man who called the police claimed that Garrett had tried jumping out of a moving car earlier that day. He also says Garrett had “kicked him and swung on him,” but he did not want to press criminal charges. Garrett was eventually released from custody on a $2,100 bond. His next court date is set for March 28. A reminder that Garrett is still on probation for pleading no contest on his 2020 DUI. And now he’s facing a lawsuit from the victims of his 2020 DUI crash.

Now, I’m no legal expert, but methinks going out and getting belligerently drunk to the point of getting arrested probably won’t help Garrett’s defense in this lawsuit.
