Emma Roberts Gave Birth To A Baby Boy

Julia Roberts is officially a great-aunt! According to E!, Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma Roberts, has given birth to a baby boy. And, presumably, Ryan Murphy is a new Godparent because it would be weird if he wasn’t after all the work he’s thrown Julia’s niece Emma’s way. Why, if it wasn’t for Ryan Murphy we might not even know that Julia Roberts even had a niece!

Emma and her partner of about a year, Garrett Hedlund, a man who looks like he should be in Mumford & Sons but isn’t, welcomed their son on Sunday. They named him Rhodes, which I think we can all agree is fine. It’s not too obnoxious and just twee enough to jibe with our expectations for what Julia Roberts’ niece might name her kid. Emma and her intermittent boyfriend and fellow Murphy-verse denizen Evan Peters, with whom she had a messy relationship, broke up for good early last year. E! reports:

Emma Roberts has a new holidate just in time for New Year’s Eve!

E! News confirms the 29-year-old actress welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with partner Garrett Hedlund. “Everyone is healthy,” an insider shares.

The Holidate star gave birth on Sunday, Dec. 27 in Los Angeles, sources told TMZ. Emma and Garrett reportedly named the newborn Rhodes.

Emma confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram in August, writing, “Me…and my two favorite guys,” alongside photos of the Mudbound actor and her baby bump. Her aunt, Julia Roberts, wrote, “Love you,” as she prepared to welcome her great-nephew into the world.

As of publication, Julia Roberts has not publicly commented on her thoughts about great-aunthood. But rest assured, Ryan Murphy is furiously banging out a script about a rival mommy influencers who will stop at nothing to secure spon-con dominance across all platforms as a vehicle for Emma and her sister in pandemic maternity Lea Michele. Does this mean we might expect a fun cameo from Meghan Markle? In your dreams, Ryan Murphy! In. Your. Dreams.
