Tristan Thompson Wants To Keep His Paternity Case Private

When it comes to Khloé Kardashian, any news is good news, and any source of attention is cause for celebration. But right now, Khloé’s on-again/off-again boyfriend Tristan Thompson is currently involved in a situation that he’d rather keep quiet. Last week, we found out that a Texas personal trainer named Maralee Nichols is suing Tristan for child support, for a baby they allegedly made while Tristan was with Khloé. That kind of drama might have had Khloé running to her momager Kris Jenner, and pitching a six-episode series called Khloé Takes Tristan to Get a Paternity Test. Tristan wants everyone to shut up about this situation, specifically Maralee, and he’s filed an emergency gag order.

According to Maralee’s lawsuit, which was filed back in June, she and Tristan had been intimate for five months before Tristan’s 30th birthday in March. That date is important because Tristan claims to have been with Maralee only one time, on his birthday. Also, Tristan was reportedly back in a relationship with Khloé on his 30th birthday. Maralee is suing him for costs related to her pregnancy, and for child support. Less than 48 hours after we all found out about Maralee’s lawsuit, she gave birth to her child. We also found out that Tristan had allegedly sent Maralee a message telling her to take the $75,000 he’s offering to her and leave because he believed he could stiff her if this situation ended up in child support court. Right after the news broke of Maralee’s child’s birth, that’s when we discovered that Tristan responded to her lawsuit with a demand for a paternity test. It’s fun to watch Maury shout the words, “You ARE the father!” on TV, but if Tristan has his way, no one is going to find out the results of any paternity test. via TMZ:

The NBA star filed an emergency petition Tuesday in Harris County, TX – asking the judge to issue a gag order in the case…barring the parties (himself and Maralee Nichols) from speaking out about the case as it plays out in court.

Tristan points to multiple instances in which he believes Maralee has violated what he claims is a confidentiality order the judge orally granted earlier in the case after she sued him over paternity.

So essentially, Tristan is accusing Maralee of being a blabbermouth who keeps blabbing about her situation with Tristan. On the surface, Maralee could be nicknamed The Vault, because she allegedly filed her lawsuit against Tristan back in June, and we just found out about it six months later in December. But Tristan claims she’s been doing interviews with media outlets and has been leaking information to the press. Tristan believes Maralee is only coming after him for some kind of “notoriety.” Yes, because accusing the never-faithful on-again/off-again boyfriend of the 4th most popular Kardashian/Jenner of dodging child support is Chapter 1 or the Clout Chasing Handbook.

But also, in that request for a gag order, Tristan accuses Maralee of faking messages between the two of them. Like a message where Tristan encourages Maralee to accept the $75,000 he offered instead of child support. And speaking of money, he’s asked a judge to demand a $30,000 bond from Maralee, as protection in the event she breaks the confidentiality he’s asking for. Tristan is focused on the wrong money here. If that paternity test proves he’s the father, he’ll be the one forking over several thousand dollars. But there is one thing that maybe makes me think Tristan is telling the truth when he says the message between him and Maralee was faked. Because in that message, he claimed he was going to be retiring soon, and he’d have zero dollars to give out. And I don’t remember him asking that judge if a poor, soon-to-be unemployed baller could get some kind of discount deal or a punch-card situation for all future paternity gag orders.
