Nicki Minaj Has Avoided A $20 Million Default Judgement To Be Awarded To Her Husband’s Sexual Assault Victim

Last month, Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty were sued by his sexual assault victim, Jennifer Hough, for harassment, bribery, and intimidation. Jennifer was almost awarded a $20 million default judgement, but Nicki proved she’s got a horseshoe tucked between those big ol’ ass cheeks of hers, and she avoided having to pay that $20 million.

Jennifer has accused Nicki and Kenneth of harassing her into trying to change her story and saying that she was never assaulted by Kenneth in 1994. Jennifer, who was 16 at the time (as was Kenneth), told police that Kenneth forced himself into her home at knifepoint and raped her. Kenneth was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, pleading guilty to attempted rape, and serving four and a half years in prison. He took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to attempted rape and spent four years in prison. He got into trouble last year for failing to register as a sex offender. Kenneth reportedly doesn’t want to be considered a sex offender anymore, which is why it’s alleged that he and Nicki are trying to get Jennifer to take back her claims against him.

Jennifer refuses to change her story and so because of that, she alleges that the harassment has gotten to be too much, she’s terrified to leave her house, she can’t work, and she’s depressed and scared for her family. So, she filed a lawsuit against Nicki and Kenneth. She was seeking unspecified damages. But thanks to this recent update, it sounds like she could have walked away with $20 million, had Nicki not stopped dragging her feet and called her lawyers in time. via Rolling Stone:

The federal clerk for the Eastern District of New York denied the request related to Minaj on Tuesday, writing on the court docket that “it appears” Minaj filed paperwork last week saying she finally hired a lawyer to defend her.

In a sworn statement filed October 15th, Minaj said she thought she had successfully hired her lawyer in late September after speaking with him over Zoom but that series of “innocent miscommunications” led to a delay in the payment of his retainer.

However, Nicki’s husband Kenneth hasn’t been so motivated to call a lawyer. Kenneth hasn’t filed a response to Jennifer’s lawsuit yet. Jennifer’s lawyer responded to this situation by saying they’ll still be pursuing a default judgement against Kenneth Petty. Okay, good luck with that. I’m pretty sure Kenneth’s job is “Nicki Minaj’s most reliable source of bad PR.” You might as well drop the papers off with Nicki’s lawyer, with a note saying: This is a legal request that you give Kenneth $20 million so he can pay a default judgement.
