Nicki Minaj And Her Husband Kenneth Petty Have Been Sued By A Sexual Assault Victim For Harassment And Intimidation
In March, the names Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty moved up on Satan’s list of future VIP residents of HELL when a woman he sexually assaulted in the 90s talked to The Daily Beast and accused them both of harassing her and trying to bribe and intimidate her into taking back her claim that he raped her. The New York Times says that the woman has now filed a lawsuit, saying that because Nicki and her husband keep messing with her, she has to constantly move, is severely depressed, can’t work, and now lives in fear.
In 1994, Jennifer Hough, who was 16 at the time, reported to the police that Kenneth Petty, who was also 16 at the time, forced her into a home at knifepoint and raped her. Jennifer and Kenneth knew each other since they grew up in the same neighborhood in Jamaica, Queens. Kenneth was arrested and charged with first-degree rape. He eventually agreed to plead guilty to attempted rape and he served four and a half years in the clink. Fast forward to last year when Kenneth was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in California after moving to the state to be with Nicki. Jennifer’s lawsuit, which was filed in New York, claims that’s when she and her family members began getting harassed by people connected to Nicki and Mr. Nicki. Jennifer says that Nicki’s people offered her money ($500,000 at one time, and $20,000 another time) to sign a prepared statement saying that she was never raped by Kenneth. Jennifer said in an interview that she told the intermediary that $500,000 was not “good enough.” That wasn’t Jennifer’s way of opening the door to negotiations. It was her way of closing that door and letting them know that she can’t be bought and she’s not going to lie.
“If I lie now and say that I lied then, you know what that does?” she said. “Do you know what that’s going to say to my two little girls, or even my sons?”
Ms. Hough said in the interview that at one point she told the intermediary that the $500,000 offer was “not good enough.” She said she had been trying to deflect the conversation, not to express interest in a bribe. Tyrone Blackburn, a lawyer representing Ms. Hough, said Ms. Hough’s comment was an effort to dissuade the intermediary from thinking she would accept anything.
Nicki herself allegedly called Jennifer last year and said that she heard Jennifer was willing to “help them out.” That was the last time Jennifer heard from Nicki, but the “harassing calls and unsolicited visits” from Nicki’s people did not stop. Because of all the threats, Jennifer has moved three times in one year. Jennifer’s lawsuit also mentions that when Nicki got with Kenneth in 2018, Nicki said on her Queen Radio show that he was “wrongfully accused” and that his accuser wanted to recant the accusation in a letter to the judge. Jennifer denies that.
Jennifer wants unspecified damages from Nicki and Kenneth because the harassment has pretty much ruined her life:
Ms. Hough “has not worked since May of 2020 due to severe depression, paranoia, constant moving, harassment and threats from the defendants and their associates,” the lawsuit says. “She is currently living in isolation out of fear of retaliation.”
Nicki’s rep and Kenneth’s lawyer were asked to comment and they didn’t have shit to say.
On top of the money, Jennifer also claims that Nicki offered to send her daughter “birthday videos” if she took back her statement. What in twisted Cameo from the Ninth Circle?! What was Nicki going to say? “Happy birthday from the woman who keeps trying to protect the innocent angel who totally didn’t attack your mother!” And if there’s some type of secret club called Friends Of Sexual Predators, Nicki is well on her way to getting a lifetime achievement award from them.
