Donald Glover Says He Loves Being “Inspirational” After Someone Accused Kanye West Of Copying His Album Artwork

Kanye West may have to do double duty in his beef with Drake because another challenger has seemingly stepped up to the plate. Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino posted a cryptic tweet on his rarely-used Twitter account which has people thinking that he’s swiped at Kanye over the Donda cover art. The Donda art is just a black square, while the fourth Childish Gambino album, 3.15.20, had simpy a white square as an album cover. And while we patiently wait for Solange to tap in and claim that Kanye also copied the cover of her EP True, which is just a red square, some of Donald’s fans are accusing Kanye of also copying Childish Gambino’s music.

Donda was finally released early on Sunday after weeks of release parties and Kanye West cosplaying the Phantom of the Sports Stadium. The cover work for the album sure couldn’t have been what was taking so long because it’s literally just a black square. While Donald isn’t as pissed as Souljah Boy railing against Kanye in a gas station or Chris Brown calling Kanye an “asshole,” it seems he may be a bit perturbed by the similarities between their album covers.

HotNewHipHop says that Donald Glover is not very active on Twitter. But he came out of Twitter hiding to give his thoughts on someone claiming that Kanye just pressed command-I in Photoshop and inverted Donald’s cover from white to black.

But while some think that Donald was commenting on Kanye’s album cover, others say that he was actually referencing the musical similarities between Ye and Childish Gambino:

Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West does not copy anyone! He’s a genius and above all living things, so if he takes an idea from someone what really happened is that he implanted the idea into their mind in the past and then used it when he was ready in the future. Get it? Thus he can’t ever copy anyone! He’s the “greatest artist that God has ever created,” after all.
