Sources Say Kelly Clarkson Ended Her Marriage To Brandon Blackstock Because She Felt “Used”

After Kelly Clarkson’s 7-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock collapsed last year, the divorce fight got messy with Kelly claiming that they are not able to co-parent their children due to issues between them. Kelly also accused Brandon, who used to be her manager, of defrauding her, which he denied. Recently, Kelly was granted primary physical custody of their children, 7-year-old daughter River and 5-year-old son Remington, and a judge ruled that their prenup will be upheld. Now a source is speaking out about what exactly brought down the marriage of Kelly and Brandon in the first place. While previous rumors said that the pandemic took a hit on their marriage, it seems that things were dead long before Coronvirus nailed the coffin shut, as a source tells Us Weekly that Kelly was unhappy and felt “used,” and only stayed married to Brandon so long because of their kids. Well, that’s better than staying in a marriage because you can’t afford to leave, right?

The source says that the end of Kelly’s marriage was shittier than From Justin To Kelly. Kelly felt like Brandon was using her and she has no regrets about dropping him as her husband:

“She could no longer trust Brandon, and she felt that Brandon was just using her for her money and lifestyle. She had tremendous resentment toward him. She just wasn’t willing to look the other way anymore.”

“The marriage was really, really awful at the end. She had a lot of questions that he just couldn’t answer… She hasn’t and won’t ever look back. Kelly has no regrets about filing for divorce. She only stuck it out for as long as she did for her kids.”

Kelly has gone through “a range of emotions” because of the divorce (like celebrating on-set of The Voice when she found out that her prenup stayed intact) and now she just “wants it over with.” Luckily, Kelly is booked and busy, soon taking over Ellen DeGeneres‘ old daytime spot and also raking in the cash for The Voice, and not to mention all those Wayfair dollars. So Kelly is working and not “thinking about the divorce all day.”

Another source previously told Us Weekly that Brandon was jealous of Kelly’s success:

“The relationship had been on the rocks for a long time. She was the high-income earner with a wildly successful talk show, and is the star of another hit show The Voice. Brandon was extremely jealous of it and made her know it…. [Now Kelly] can finally enjoy her success without feeling ashamed… Kelly doesn’t take credit for her success but shares it with the team she works with. It’s just who she is.”

Kelly is expecting to be legally divorced in the next two weeks and sources say that she’s waiting until then to start dating. She’s hoping her The Voice co-star Blake Shelton will hook her up with “a younger, up-and-coming country singer [who] understands the business.”

Brandon has said that he wants to retire from show business and be a full-time rancher in Montana. I don’t know if I believe him about wanting to live a quiet life.  I think he’s pivoting. If he loves connections and ranching then Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond better watch out! Brandon may be coming to snatch her from her marriage!
