Hailey Bieber Would Like You To Know That She’s Not Pregnant
Yesterday, Justin Bieber decided to do a dumb thing on social media that got some attention and plenty of eye rolls (not that far out of his comfort zone). He posted a picture of himself and his wife of nearly three years, Hailey Bieber, apropos of nothing, with the headline-grabbing caption: “Mom and Dad.” Does that sound like a pregnancy announcement to you? Because it did to a whole lot of people on the internet. So much so, that Hailey herself was forced to hop into the comments and clarify that, no, there isn’t a little Justin Jr. growing in her womb.
Here’s the picture in question, featuring Justin and his Lil’ Magnum P.I. stache (he never could get the mustache right) and Hailey doing her part to keep the bucket hat trend alive.
Us Weekly notes that not long after Justin posted that picture, his comments section began filling up with excited people asking if he was breaking some pregnancy news. Personally, I always hoped Justin would announce he’s about to be a dad in the most shameless way possible, which is of course by releasing a remix to his 2010 hit “Baby,” retitled “Baby (I Made One, Can You Believe It?). His Instagram fans clearly do not subscribe to that theory and assumed that the caption was Justin’s way of revealing the Biebers were about to become a family of three. Hailey quickly shut that theory down:
“I think u should maybe change this caption to *Dog Mom and Dad* before anyone gets it twisted,” she replied, adding a crying laughing emoji.
This isn’t the first time this month that Hailey has had to step in and set the record straight on behalf of something her husband did. Last week, a video started circulating around the internet that showed Justin and Hailey leaving a performance at the newly-opened Delilah lounge in Las Vegas, and it was more than notable because it appeared as though Justin was aggressively yelling at his wife. Hailey cleared that up, although it was a far less fun rumor to debunk, saying that she and Justin had a great time and that any other narrative was “false” and “bullshit.”
But Hailey didn’t really have to confirm that this possible pregnancy news was false. I don’t think anyone would have seriously accepted Justin’s caption as fact. I am very certain that the day a pregnancy test taken in the Biebers’ bathroom tests positive, a signal goes out into the universe, causing the tectonic plates to shift and the Earth’s moon to suddenly begin spinning backward.
