Armie Hammer Has Checked Into Rehab To Deal With Several Of His Issues
The last time we played Where’s Armie Hammer?, Armie Hammer was living that funemployment life in the Cayman Islands and dating a Canadian dental hygienist. Armie tried to disappear for a bit after several alleged DMs leaked back in January, which showed that Armie is a big fan of abuse, assault, and cannibalism. But Armie didn’t seem too bothered by the allegations. He continued to chill out and take ‘er easy in the Cayman Islands. But as it turns out, Armie could only drink, fuck, get sunburnt, and escape reality for so long. Vanity Fair has published the latest update to Where’s Armie Hammer? and they say he’s currently checked into a treatment center in Florida to deal with drug, alcohol, and sex issues.
Vanity Fair has brought us the full scoop on Armie’s private life before, and they’re coming through for Armie again. VF writes that Armie was seen at the Grand Cayman airport on May 29th with his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers, who is also still living in the Cayman Islands, and their two children, Harper and Ford. They all hugged Armie goodbye, and he hopped on a plane bound for Orlando, Florida. A source tells VF that Armie reached out to Elizabeth late in May, asking for help, and promised to stay in rehab for as long as it takes to get healthy. Two sources say that Armie checked into a rehab facility on May 31st and that he has been in treatment for over a week. And, according to one source, all of Armie’s demons can probably be traced back to his allegedly fucked-up childhood and family history:
“Everyone looks at Armie thinking that he’s had some sort of privileged life – and that must mean there were no problems in his youth and everything was peachy keen,” said a close friend of the actor. “But that’s not necessarily the way things go. Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn’t mean life isn’t without problems. This is a clear sign that he is taking back control [of] his life and knows that this [is] a step towards his overall well being.”
Peachy keen? That’s a Call Me By Your Name reference that we didn’t need. And while Armie is in rehab, the LAPD continues to investigate the claims made against him online by a woman named Effie, who accused him of rape and is represented by Gloria Allred. Vanity Fair reached out to the LAPD for an update on the investigation, but an LAPD officer named Norma Eisenman told them that detectives are not commenting on the case.
When reached for comment, neither Armie nor his lawyers had anything to say about his rehab stay. But it’s not entirely surprising that Armie might seek treatment for drugs. A while back, The Daily Mail found Armie’s alleged secret Instagram account, where he reportedly talked about doing so many drugs, his estranged wife began forcing him to take drug tests before he had visits with their kids. That’s reason enough to get your ass to treatment, but then you add alcohol issues on top of that. So he could be in rehab for a while. But the sex issues – I feel like that could be solved in a one-hour afternoon session. “Hi Armie, we’ve read the DMs and seen the allegations. I’m prescribing you this dictionary, so you can look up the word CONSENT. If you have some extra time left over, go ahead and look up CREEP too.”
