Gal Gadot Confirmed That Joss Whedon Tried Threatening Her Career

Joss Whedon was accused of being an absolute dump-stain of a person when actors from Justice League revealed just how shitty he was to them. Ray Fisher got the ball rolling and triggered a Warner Bros. investigation into Joss after Ray accused Joss of being abusive on the set of JL. The investigation seemingly led to Joss leaving his HBO show The Nevers, and then two exposés were published about how awful Joss was on Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel after Charisma Carpenter, Michelle Trachtenberg and more came out and said he was vile and strongly hinted at pervy behavior. During Joss’ public flaying, it was suggested that he had also threatened Gal Gadot’s career while working with her on JL. She recently spoke to Israeli media and confirmed it, Joss tried it with her because she took issue with his corny dialogue. Well, maybe he should have written something about living in a society?

Joss and Gal reportedly got into it over some of the lines that were written for Wonder Woman in the Justice League movie. Gal had problems with some of the dialogue and Joss wanted her to just act pretty and say her lines and let her know he felt that way about her. Reportedly things got so tense between Joss and Gal, that he tried to turn Wonder Woman-director Patty Jenkins against her. But instead, Patty teamed up with Gal and reported him to Warner Bros. Gal basically confirmed the story when she spoke with Israel’s N12 News, and was asked about the reports. via Rolling Stone:

When asked by the interviewer whether she was going to “let [Whedon] get away with it,” Gadot replied, “No.”

Gadot continued, “What I had with Joss basically is that he kind of threatened my career and said if I did something he would make my career miserable. I handled it on the spot.”

Too bad for Joss that his threats went nowhere and Gal’s career is doing fine (well, sort of fine). And at least working with the allegedly pervy, sexist Joss probably helped prepare Gal for when she had to work Death On The Nile with the allegedly carnivorous Armie Hammer. At this point, she could probably even handle getting screamed at by Tom Cruise!
