Michelle Trachtenberg Says That Joss Whedon Wasn’t “Allowed In A Room Alone” With Her While Working On “Buffy”

Earlier this week, Charisma Carpenter pulled a Cordelia Chase and spoke out the alleged absuive ways of Buffy The Vampire Slayer creator, Joss Whedon. Charisma co-signed Ray Fisher‘s account of Joss and accused him of being one of the most toxic assholes she’s ever worked with. She claimed Joss went out of his way to punish her for getting pregnant while she was working on Angel, which cost Charisma her job (and ruined the plot). And now, Michelle Trachtenberg, who played Buffy’s younger sister Dawn Summers at 15 years of age, has said that Joss was “not allowed” to be “alone” in a room with her. I wish it was something like, “it’s because Joss cusses a lot and he shouldn’t swear in front of a teen,” but like… it’s probably not…
Along with Charisma, titular star of the series, Sarah Michelle Gellar, spoke out about the situation saying she stands with “all survivors of abuse.” Amber Benson, who played lesbian witch Tara Macklay for 3 seasons, also tweeted her support of Charisma saying that Buffy was a “toxic environment” and a lot of “damage” was done.
Buffy was a toxic environment and it starts at the top. @AllCharisma is speaking truth and I support her 100%. There was a lot of damage done during that time and many of us are still processing it twenty plus years later. #IStandWithRayFisher #IStandWithCharismaCarpenter https://t.co/WJAmDGm76C

Michelle also spoke about Joss, reposting Sarah’s statement and thanking her for making it. Michelle said she was now “brave enough” to call out Joss’ “not appropriate behavior….very. Not. Appropriate.” She eventually updated the post and went on to say there was a rule that Joss was not “allowed” to be alone with her:
“There was a rule. Saying. He’s not allowed in a room alone with Michelle again.”
Also, here’s a tweet mentioning how Joss deleted a tweet where he said he loves the word “nubile” because it means “too young” and “sexual.” To be fair, he said he liked it because it was “creepy,” but like… is that what we think…?
Joss Whedon loves the word "nubile" because "it means young (often too young) and sexual." In fact, as a kid he discovered it was defined as "of marriageable age."
He has since deleted this tweet but the internet is forever. pic.twitter.com/71RmplOmyI

Eliza Dushku, who played Faith Lehane on both BTVS and Angel, didn’t mention any personal trauma of her own at the hands of Joss but gave a statement in solidarity with Charisma and survivors of the “power/racial/gender/sexual abuse epidemic in the entertainment industry.” Eliza has previously spoken about her won molestation while working in Hollywood as a child.
Welp… I guess this clears up any potential idea that Joss left his own HBO series, The Nevers, because he was tired. Tired of being called out for being a piece of shit! But hey, at least it was nice of Joss to give Armie Hammer a day off from carrying the baton of bad press.
