Anna Marie Tendler Says John Mulaney Has Chosen To Divorce Her After His Rehab Stay

John Mulaney and Anna Marie Tendler are divorcing after six years of marriage. The announcement comes after John’s 60-day rehab stay for cocaine and alcohol abuse. 38-year-old John relapsed during the pandemic after 15 years of sobriety. After leaving rehab in February, he entered outpatient sober care. And that’s when sources say John asked Anna Marie, an artist and master’s candidate in NYU’s Costume Studies program, for a divorce. Woooof.

John Mulaney’s spokesman confirmed the divorce to Page Six and said:

“John will not have any further comment as he continues to focus on his recovery and getting back to work.”

Then Anne Marie chimed in via her spokesperson:

“I am heartbroken that John has decided to end our marriage. I wish him support and success as he continues his recovery.”

Double woooof. Rumors of a split have been swirling for months. Internet sleuths pointed out that after John got out of rehab, Anna Marie’s Instagram got extra… divorcey:

While Anna Marie sits shiva for her dearly departed marriage, John is going back to work. He announced his first set of tour dates since rehab/the pandemic. He’ll do a five-day stand-up residency called John Mulaney: From Scratch at City Winery in Manhattan (proof of vaccine or negative COVID test required). The shows start today, and obviously, that shit’s already sold out.

I wonder if John will comment on the split in his new act. The divorce being announced the same day his new show premieres can’t be a coincidence. And he always told stories about Anna Marie in his other stand-up specials… and their beloved French Bulldog Petunia Tendler-Mulaney. Oh no! Petunia! Who will get custody? This could turn into a bigger custody battle than Pitt vs. Jolie, Frankel vs. Hoppy, Spears vs. Federline! Triple woooof.
