Josh Duggar Will Be Released On Bond As More Disturbing Details About His Child Porn Case Come Out
It’s just like the old closing time saying: you don’t have to go home, but you can’t stay here. Except in Josh Duggar’s case, it’s more like: your lawyer pulled the right strings to get you out of here, but there’s no way you’re going home because come on, you know what you were charged with. And that would be two counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. Josh has pleaded not guilty, but if convicted, he faces up to 20 years behind bars. He recently had a hearing about his case, and there’s no way to say this in a nice Christian way. It was revealed that he was in possession of some awful, sickening shit involving minor children. And as such, he can’t be around kids, which is pretty tough when your house is currently filled with half a dozen of them.
TMZ has the details on Josh’s release, and they say that a judge granted that he could be released from jail prior to his trial, because they don’t believe he’s a flight risk. But, they really don’t think he should be at home with his wife Anna Duggar and his six children. I guess Captain Obvious recently became a judge in Arkansas? Josh will be released to third-party custodians today and will be forced to wear a GPS ankle monitor. He was also forced to surrender his passport, and he’ll have to submit to supervision by the U.S. Probation Office. E! News says that Josh’s custodians are family friends of the Duggars. Just because he can’t be at home, doesn’t mean he can’t see his family.
Duggar is allowed to have unlimited contact with his children if his wife is present. However, he is not permitted to have any contact with any other minor child, including his siblings, five of whom are still under 18.
He also isn’t allowed to access or use any internet device, or possess or review erotica (so, no internet porn for Josh). His trial is scheduled to begin on July 6.
The notes from Josh’s hearing were made public, which is good because it lets everyone know how much of an alleged piece of shit he is. Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent Gerald Faulkner testified during the trial, and it sounds like the Duggar family better prepare for the worst, because Josh was busted in a bad way. via People magazine:
The files were initially flagged by a police detective in Little Rock, Ark., and then allegedly traced to Duggar’s IP address on a computer at his workplace at the time, the Wholesale Motorcars dealership.
One file, according to Faulkner, depicted child sex abuse involving children ranging from 18 months to 12 years of age. Faulkner described the images as “in the top five of the worst of the worst that I’ve ever had to examine.”
TMZ adds that investigators found more than 200 images on his computer. According to prosecutors, Josh downloaded the files on May 14th, 15th, and 16th of 2019. Prosecutors also report that Josh had a Christian porn monitoring program installed on his devices, called Covenant Eyes. The program analyzes screengrabs and will send out a notice if porn is being watched. The reports of Josh’s internet history went to Anna, who is all too familiar with Josh’s porn addiction). But Josh found a sneaky way to prevent Covenant Eyes from seeing what he was up to. via People:
During Wednesday’s virtual detention hearing, Faulkner said Covenant Eyes was unable to detect Duggar’s internet usage after a password-protected network was installed on his computer. According to Faulkner, investigators found child sexual abuse materials on an isolated part of the computer’s hard drive that was not monitored by Covenant Eyes.
Remember when Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s compound was raided by Homeland Security back in November 2019, and there was a rumor there was a federal investigation regarding Josh? And then it was reported not long after that Josh’s car dealership, Wholesale Motors, was also raided by the feds? Yeah, guess what they were looking for. Right, Josh’s computer. So they’ve been building this case for a long time. Special Agent Gerald Faulkner said during the trial that when agents showed up at Josh’s car dealership, this is allegedly how he greeted them:
When homeland security officials raided Duggar’s car dealership and asked to speak with him, without informing him they were investigating child pornography, Duggar “spontaneously” responded, “What is this about? Has someone been downloading child pornography?”

But apparently, that was the only chatting Josh wanted to do when it came to the subject of child porn that day in 2019. When a raid agent point-blank asked him if he’d seen child pornography, Josh answered: “I’d rather not answer that question.” Which probably wasn’t Josh’s attempt to avoid incriminating himself further. No, he probably meant it in a literal way. “I’d rather not answer that question. But I’m sure my enablers would love to meet with you and spew out a gushing stream of BS on my behalf!”
