Natalie Dormer Had A Baby During Quarantine

Natalie Dormer, aka Margaery Tyrell from Game of Thrones, managed to do what many famous people before her have done by successfully keeping a pregnancy and birth under wraps. I’m sure Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker just vomited in their mouth a little at the thought of lying low for 12 minutes, let alone 12 months, but Natalie did it.

39-year-old Natalie made her big baby reveal during a recent episode of the That’s After Life podcast. This is Natalie’s first kid, and the father is her 37-year-old boyfriend of three years, British actor and environmentalist David Oakes. via Entertainment Tonight:

“It’s the perfect thing to do during a pandemic – get pregnant, have a baby,” the actress joked. “I feel like I’m probably being a bit of a cliché, she’ll probably be sitting in a bar in 30 years’ time one day going, ‘Yeah, I’m a COVID baby.'”

We don’t know what Natalie and David named their baby. We just know they had a girl and that she was born in January. But as for pictures, Natalie doesn’t do social media, and her boyfriend only posts pictures of trees and nature. So right now, all we know about this kid is that she’s keeping Natalie up at night:

“She’s just three months and she’s an absolute joy, I’m never going to complain about shooting hours ever again because sleep deprivation is something else,” she shared. “People say, ‘Your whole perspective on life will change, and your whole set of value system’ and you sort of roll your eyes and go ‘Yeah, yeah’ – and then you have one and you go, ‘Oh. Wow!'”

“I’m in love. I’m absolutely in love, she’s a joy. Sleep has always been quite important to me – that’s the only downside, but you know nature is so clever, the hormones kick in,” she continued.

She adds that she knows a whole lot of people in the entertainment industry get themselves a nanny as soon as possible, but that she’s not too interested in that right now, because she wants to focus on theater work, and that’s not exactly happening at the moment.

Natalie’s baby is three months old, which means that she’s three months deep into some of the wildest sleep deprivation a person can experience (I saw a talking cat twice!). And I don’t know if she’s right about it being worse than a 3:30 am call time on set, but at least when you show up at the crack of dawn, you can find someone who will get you a coffee or a Red Bull with crushed-up caffeine pills mixed in. When a baby wakes you up at 3:30 am, they might have something for you, but 9 times out of 10 it’s a toxic-smelling diaper. Which wouldn’t be so bad if they could somehow get their little hands on a can of Red Bull for you too, but you’d have to have a really talented baby to pull that off.
