Constance Wu Had A Secret Baby In The Summer
Earlier this year, we learned that to prepare for her role in Hustlers, Constance Wu secretly went undercover as a dancer at a strip club, and ended up walking away with $600 on her first night. And nobody knew until Constance let people know. Constance clearly knows how to fly under the radar and keep a secret locked in the vault, so no one should really be that surprised that Constance hid a whole pregnancy and the birth of a baby.
A rep for 38-year-old Constance confirmed the news to Us Weekly, saying that she gave birth to a baby girl sometime in the summer. There were no clues about a pregnancy anywhere online. Constance only has three pictures posted to her Instagram account, the most recent being a paid partnership ad from May, with her bio describing the account as “defunct.” Constance has also left Twitter, with the last activity happening in 2019. Plus, we’ve been in a pandemic since March. So, much like secret pandemic mommy Billie Lourde before her, it’s been pretty easy for Constance to hide a bump or a baby buckled into a carrier. The last time Constance was seen in public was at the Queerties in February, and it’s hard to tell that anything was going on, thanks to all that figure-obscuring taffeta and ruffles and aaaaah ok I see what she was doing there.
But here’s what her rep would tell us. Constance had a baby with her boyfriend, musician Ryan Kattner, who performs under the name Honus Honus (and is part of the band Man Man). It’s not known how old he is, or when they started dating, but he looks like this:
Neither Constance nor Ryan have said anything about this summertime pandemic mystery baby, but a source who spoke to E! News says:
“They are doing great, and they’re so excited and happy.”
So there you go, Constance – a secret undercover mommy for about half a year – is happy and excited. Expected, but a bit of a redundant thing to say. Of course, she’s happy and excited! It’s a baby, not a Fresh off the Boat season renewal.
