Drew Barrymore Says She Has No Plans To Act Again
Drew Barrymore is done with marriage, she’s done with drugs, and she’s done with acting, for now. Drew spilled this tea on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM show after he asked her which of her co-stars had the worst breath. JK, he didn’t, but that shady bitch would. Andy actually asked if Drew had any plans to make more movies, or if hosting her talk show The Drew Barrymore Show was her official full-time gig. Drew answered that she had no plans to keep acting, but that might change when her kids get older. She says she hasn’t done films since she gave birth to her daughters, Olive, 8, and Frankie, 6. Her last big theatrical release was 2014’s Adam Sandler comedy, Blended. She recently starred in something called The Stand-In, but it only got 31% on Rotten Tomatoes and also starred T.J. Miller. So we’re not counting that!
Drew explained, via People:
“If I’m being honest, the answer is no,” Barrymore said when asked about making a comeback. “I don’t want to be on a film set right now, but that could change when my kids are older.”
“I stopped doing these when my kids were born, because I’ve done it since I was in diapers at 11 months old when I started,” she explained. Barrymore added, “And it was a no brainer to me to put making movies on a back burner so that I could be present and raise my kids myself. I didn’t want to be on a film set asking the nanny how the kids were. I was like, that is not my journey.”
“And so when you step away from it, it’s a lot less scary,” she said. “And you know, I’ve started brands. I was able to write a book.”
Ah yes, her book. I read that on a beach and I remember zero details from it except… it was fun? Drew went on to admit that, for a while, she was “knee-deep into mothering” and forgot she was “an individual with a skill set.” That’s why she took the lead role on The Santa Clarita Diet from 2017 to 2019. Which was also… fun?:
“And it was just perfect and it was comedy and it was delicious and it was fun and it was irreverent and I couldn’t have loved it more. And it really saved me,” she declared. “I had gained a lot of weight. I had lost my way. I was going through a really difficult divorce in that it just was the worst thing and everything I didn’t want to happen. And that’s what made it difficult.”
Barrymore added, “And that show was the greatest thing that could have ever happened to me.”

Awww, I was looking forward to Drew’s prestige period. When she’d go full Jennifer Aniston in Cake, ugly herself up, and finally snag an Oscar nom. Jesus Christ, think about how much she’d cry in her acceptance speech. All the celebs would be forced to flee the Dolby Theatre due to flooding.
