Here’s Kristen Stewart As Princess Diana For The Upcoming Biopic “Spencer”

Back in June, when it was announced that Kristen Stewart would play Princess Diana in a new biopic, the world replied with a collective, “The fuck?” Whatever you think of her as an actress, the resemblance is not uncanny. And after Emma Corrin turned it out (in my opinion) as a young Diana on the latest season of The Crown, it was like… your move, K. Stew. Well, today the producers released their first image of Kirsten as Lady Di in Spencer, and it’s not terrible!

Here it ’tis:

A bunch of people on Β Twitter approved of the pic. And you know what they say… first you get the tweeters, then you get the critics, then you get the Oscar voters:

Deadline reported that actors Timothy Spall, Sally Hawkins, and Sean Harris will all join Kristen and director Pablo LarraΓn (Jackie) to shoot Spencer in Germany. It’s set in the early ’90s and follows Diana over three days during one of her final holiday visits to the House of Windsor. When she’s deciding if she should leave her husband. So far no casting news on Prince Charles or the kids.

I think Kristen has totally captured Di’s downwards face tilt/moony sad eyes, but is there any actual resemblance here, or just camera trickery for this one photo? Everyone knows angles are a girl’s best friend. Hell, I can look like Kate Winslet if I take a selfie from up high. But take another without the same strategic positioning, and my true form β€” rocker Steven Adler in Celebrity Rehab β€” is revealed.
