Mossimo Giannulli Is Out Of Solitary Confinement
Mossimo Giannulli has been serving his five-month prison sentence since November and has hated it. And he’s been in isolation over some COVID-19 concerns and recently tried to use his solitary confinement as an excuse to get out of the rest of his time in the clink. He asked to serve home confinement and gave a real sob story about his Shawshank Redemption-ass living accommodations. My guess was that he was just jealous his wife, Lori Loughlin, was already out of prison and living the life in their downsized mansion. The government decided to fuck with Mossimo some more and so now he’s been released from solitary and prosecutors also detailed his time there and it sounds like a cakewalk.
Previously, Mossimo was whining in legal documents how hard his life was in prison with his attorney, William Trach, saying the quarantine conditions were “far more extreme” than necessary and said that each day in “isolation caused harm to his physical, mental and emotional health.” Well, girl, the prosecution took that sob story and wiped their whole ass with it. Us Weekly says the prosecution detailed Mossimo’s actual conditions in solitary and why he was in isolation in the first place. SPOILER ALERT: Mossimo is the one who complained about COVID symptoms:
“He was exposed to other inmates with COVID-19 and … he complained of symptoms consistent with the virus,” federal prosecutors explained in the filing on Tuesday, January 19. “During this additional quarantine, Giannulli reported suffering a headache and the loss of his sense of smell, both symptoms of COVID-19. He was immediately moved to the isolation unit, where he stayed for 14 days and received additional COVID tests. There, he had access to books, mail, and a television and could communicate with other inmates in isolation through their cells.”
The California native was tested for the coronavirus on January 11, and his negative results came back two days later. He was then moved “to the adjacent minimum security camp” on January 13, which allows him outside time between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. He can also be outside of his dormitory until 9 p.m.
Yeah, none of that is what solitary confinement is. I know he’s new to the prison system but solitary sounds like a breeze compared to what I’ve seen on Oz. Didn’t his wife and co-schemer, Lori, do a prison prep class? Maybe he should have sat in on the lessons?
The prosecution also “opposed the motion” to release Mossimo to his home and pretty much said it would be like slapping him on the wrist:
“This possibility was not unforeseeable at the time Giannulli was sentenced, and it does not provide a basis to reduce the sentence that this Court concluded was just and appropriate.” They noted that if he was released early, the decision would be “widely publicized, thereby undermining the deterrent effect of the sentence.”
Well, it doesn’t sound like Mossimo has any real reason to leave prison now since he’s no longer alone and suffering in the horrifying conditions which sound as bad as my university dorms. So I guess he’ll just have to navigate his way around the hardened criminals of minimum security prison. Mossimo will probably run into that real estate mogul wearing the same color shower shoes as him and go into a meltdown, being the highly original fashionista that he is.
