Mossimo Giannulli Is Now In Protective COVID-Related Custody In Prison

Straight from the files of Adding Insult to Injury, Mossimo Giannulli and his perpetual deer-in-the-headlights-and-resigned-to-roadkill lewk are now sequestered in protective isolation due to COVID-19 concerns, as he completes his five-month sentence for his part in the College Admissions scandal. The aftermath of that what-the-fuck-were-you-thinking crash in judgment seems to be dragging out longer than it takes to get a bachelor’s degree, and in the end, all anyone is going to do is try to brand and rebrand themselves on social media anyway, so just save your money, everyone.

Mossimo and his wife, Lori Loughlin, finally agreed to a plea deal after months of stubbornly clinging to their innocence, which wasn’t working out too well. Lori is currently serving a two-month sentence at a separate facility, and everyone seems to be on the same page that our generation’s Bonnie and Clyde, The Rowing Years should never have been unwittingly crowdfunded by janky fashion shoppers and Hallmark watchers.

via The New York Daily News:

Mossimo Giannulli has reportedly been placed in isolation in a bid to protect him from coronavirus while he serves a five-month prison sentence for his involvement in the college admissions scandal.

The 57-year-old designer arrived at the Lompoc prison in Southern California in November, just weeks after his actress wife, Lori Loughlin, who is also serving jail time for her roll in the high-profile scam. The global health crisis had been wreaking havoc on prison systems across the United States for months by the time they arrived, with scores of inmates and staff becoming infected with COVID.

On Friday, Giannulli’s son, Gianni, took to social media, claiming his father “has been locked in solitary confinement for one full month,” and “only let out every 3 days for a few moments to shower.”

According to the Instagram post, screen-grabbed by ABC News, Giannulli was “supposed to serve his time in a minimum security camp,” but is now in “quarantine in the MEDIUM security prison in a cell.”

Lori also began her sentence in COVID quarantine as a precaution, due to the virus spreading rampantly throughout the prison system, so while it seems like another feathery dollop of punishment for their dumbass deeds, it is not. But the real takeaway here is that Mossimo has a son, and I can’t be the only one who didn’t know that. Gianni Giannulli is 30 years old and was born before Mossimo met Lori.

No one really expected these two to transition seamlessly to the slight glamour downgrade of prison life, given their rather high-end launching pad and corresponding lifestyle leading into it, but whining about isolation for their own safety isn’t exactly setting a good example for their rowing-challenged daughters, Isabella Rose, 22 and Olivia Jade, 21. While everyone awaits the end of their prison sentences and rocky transition back to the outside world, Olivia unintentionally entertained us all with her hot mess of a damage-control attempt earlier this month. It’ll just have to tide us over.
