Chris Evans Will Voice The Human Buzz Lightyear In A Disney+ Movie

Those with a Toy Story fetish (niche market) and those of us attracted to Chris Evans are about to come together in a stunning moment in history. Disney announced a new movie about Buzz Lightyear, the astronaut toy from Toy Story, and he will be played by Chris. Well, that merchandise line will definitely have the biggest-dicked toys in existence.

The Disney+ movie, Lightyear, is all about Buzz Lightyear, the character voiced by Tim Allen in the original Toy Story series. It’s going to be about a “human” Buzz Lightyear. So I’m kind of unclear who the “human” Buzz Lightyear is–apparently Buzz was based on the actual astronaut Buzz Aldrin but I don’t think this is about Buzz Aldrin.

Chris said on Instagram that he’s very excited about the project (I mean, he is getting another Disney check) and promises it won’t be shit:

Working with Pixar is a dream come true. I’ve been a massive fan of their films since the very beginning. My team could barely contain their excitement when they told me that Pixar had a pitch for me. All they said was ‘Buzz Lightyear’. I didn’t know what that meant, since Tim Allen is Buzz Lightyear, and no one could ever touch his performance. I needed to know how this character was different and why this story was worth telling. I can say 2 things with absolute confidence:

1.. I didn’t stop smiling through the ENTIRE pitch. Ear to ear.

2. Everyone can rest easy. And get very excited.

Trust me when I say that they REALLY know what they’re doing over there. This one is gonna special, and it doesn’t step on a single thing. I can’t even put my excitement into words. I smile every time I think about it.

And on Twitter, Chris let us know that he’s voicing a human Buzz Lightyear:

Well, this is definitely a change of pace from Captain America but it’s not like promo will be hard in terms of converting Marvel fans. Chris just has to whip it out again, or just pick up dog Dodger with his shirt off and people will show up in droves.
