Tyra Banks Is The New Host And Executive Producer Of “Dancing With The Stars”

Dancing With The Stars just got ten thousand percent more extra because they’ve got a new host in the form of Tyra Banks. So after contestants do a socially distanced Cha-Cha in an empty studio, they should expect to have to listen to Tyra, appearing via Zoom, go on and on about the time when SHE was on Dancing With The Stars even though she’s never been on Dancing With The Stars. Because Tyra will bring her tomfoolery and shenanigans to DWTS as she replaces the recently-axed Tom Bergeron.

Tyra hosted the 12th and 13th seasons of America’s Got Talent from 2017 to 2018, and she claims that a 25th season of America’s Next Top Model is in the works. But until then, she’s got a new gig. TMZ says Tyra is replacing both Tom and co-host Erin Andrews who got the boot ahead of season 29. Erin has been co-hosting since 2010 and Tom is the OG host since he’s hosted every season since the first one in 2005. Even though sources say that Tom was shocked to be ousted from his gig after 15 years, he seems to be taking it well and made a joke about how he and Tyra have the same initials:

Tyra has been in talks with ABC for a while now. Tyra will also be an Executive Producer on the show. Ohhhhhh shit. The contestants already break their asses enough on that show and now they’re going to break their asses when Tyra makes them do the Viennese Waltz among swinging pendulums of doom:

Tyra talked about her new job as the first solo host of DWTS on Good Morning America today and mentioned how she tore her meniscus on the set of Coyote Ugly back in 2000 so we shouldn’t expect to see her dancing:

The 29th season of DWTS is still scheduled to happen this fall. But I don’t care what Tyra says about a torn meniscus. You know they’re starting the new season with her performing a routine. I can’t wait until she resurrects her song Shake Ya Body on live television. She is about to pull so much focus! Dancing With The Stars just became Dancing With Ty Ty.
