Oscar, the cat who survived 12 minutes in a running washing machine!
When Oscar, a Burmese cat who lives with his humans on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in Australia, crawled into the front-loading washing machine, he probably figured it was a sumptuous sleeping pod created solely for him. And he was right! But his stupid human didn’t get the message, and disturbed his sleep time by shoving sheets into the washing machine before turning it on. And his sumptuous sleeping pod became a diabolical pussy torture machine for 12 long minutes.
One of Oscar’s humans, Amanda Meredith, tells Australia’s ABC News that her husband put bedsheets in the washing machine, and a little while later, she heard meowing coming from their laundry room. At first, Amanda thought the meowing was coming from one of the cupboards but then realized it was coming from inside the washing machine. When she looked in, she saw poor Oscar with his paws on the glass and he was staring at her as the washing machine spun him around. THAT IMAGE! Kudos to Amanda for not pulling her cell phone out, recording it and uploading it onto TikTok with Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Round.
Amanda immediately turned the washing machine off and had to wait two minutes until the door released and she could free poor Oscar from his watery tomb. Oscar was bruised up from being tossed around. Amanda took him to the vet where he was put on anti-inflammatories and stayed overnight. It could’ve been bad for Oscar since the washing machine was filled with hot water. But Oscar was allowed to go home the next day and he’s mostly okay.
While Ms Meredith can laugh about the incident three weeks later, she said the incident was horrific.
As for Oscar, the ordeal has not appeared to have turned him off exploring around the washing machine.
“He sits there and watches it tumble-turn all the time,” Ms Meredith said.
“Maybe he has PTSD or something — he has to sit at the door watching the wash cycle.”
I don’t know if Oscar suffers from PTSD. I think what he’s doing is staring at the washer and thinking about the day that catmanity will finally take over the world and he and the pussy army will shove Amanda’s husband into that washing machine in the name of REVENGE. And when Amanda’s husband puts his hand on the glass, Oscar will record it and upload it onto TikTok with Dead or Alive’s You Spin Me Round.
