Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Might Have Hit A Pregnancy Rough Patch
Katy Perry is currently pregnant with her first kid, a little girl, and according to a source who recently spoke to Us Weekly, she’s been going through some “ups and downs.” And they’re not talking about the contents of her stomach (besides, there’s no trimester that could make Katy any more nauseous than she got after reading the reviews of Witness). Us Weekly says that things have been a little touchy between Katy and the reason she’s pregnant, Orlando Bloom.
A source says that Katy’s relationship with Orlando has “changed” since she became pregnant. It’s pretty common for a relationship to change when a pregnancy happens. Since, you know, one person is slowly becoming a parade float with constant heartburn and Garfield-like food cravings. But this source claims that the issues facing Katy and Orlando boil down to her being super psyched about being a mom, whereas Orlando might not be ready to be a dad to two kids (at least not right now).
“Orlando and her are having some ups and downs right now. Katy is dealing with the nerves of being a first-time parent, and Orlando is stressing about having a baby in their lives at this time.” That said, the American Idol judge “is overjoyed and elated that she is pregnant,” according to the source. “She’s always wanted to be a mom.”
This is 35-year-old Katy’s first child. It will be 43-year-old Orlando’s second child. He shares a 9-year-old son named Flynn, that he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr. Katy has been posting pictures of her baby bump on Instagram:
Katy admitted last month that there’s a lot of “friction” in her relationship with Orlando, but that friction can breed “something beautiful.” Uh yeah, no kidding. Crotch friction literally led to breeding, in this specific case. Katy and Orlando first got together in January 2016 and broke up in March 2017 before getting back together a few months later. They got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019. They apparently put off their wedding in Japan because of coronavirus.
I don’t think it’s that Orlando didn’t want to have a baby with Katy, it’s just that it’s happening too fast. It took Katy and Orlando over two and a half years before they made their first official red carpet appearance together. Orlando probably thought he had at least six, maybe seven more years to check off his pre-baby bucket list. I wouldn’t be surprised if Orlando was thinking he could squeeze in at least one, maybe two more naked vacation situations before settling down with his second kid. Sorry Orlando, sometimes life makes other plans.
