O.J. Simpson Is Suing A Las Vegas Resort For Defamation

Can you defame the character of a man that most people think got away with murder? Because O.J. Simpson is claiming that after a Las Vegas casino banned him for being allegedly drunk and belligerent, he was defamed. Like, does he think people think less of him for being a drunk mess? That is not the worst thing about you.

Here’s a reminder that O.J. was acquitted in 1994 of killing his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, but was found “liable” for the killings during a civil case in 1997 by a jury and had to pay $33.5 million to victims’ families. I didn’t even mention the memorabilia of his that he stole which he actually went to prison for, but my point is, he’s not known for being a calm and reasonable citizen.

Back in November 2017, the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas banned O.J. Simpson because they claim that he was drunk, disruptive, and unruly. O.J. is now fighting back. He filed a lawsuit against Nevada Property 1 LLC, who owns the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The suit says that O.J. was just having a regular night when he was told he wasn’t allowed back after he and his friends left. He says he was given no reason for why he was prohibited from the property, but you’re OJ-fucking-Simpson, so take a wild guess?

ABC 15 says the lawsuit states that a Cosmopolitan employee told TMZ that O.J. “was drunk and became disruptive” at the resort’s Clique bar. O.J. denies being “belligerent” or breaking anything and that “hotel staff” damaged his reputation. Again, what reputation?  Cosmopolitan spokeswoman, Rachel Henry, declined to comment.

O.J. claims that the story made his probation officer (he’s still on probation for stealing his memorabilia) test him for drugs and alcohol. The tests came back negative. Thus, the TMZ story was false, thus the Cosmopolitan staff defamed him. Nevada’s probation department did not co-sign this, though, because state law prevents them from disclosing information like that.

O.J. also says in the lawsuit that he is a “model” parolee and says that he had “an extremely warm and positive reception by many” who will pose with him for photos and shit. Wow, we are truly a problematic species. And can we be real for a second? No one can be defamed after they themselves admitted to doing Kris Jenner.
