Ben Affleck Appears To Have Fallen Off The Wagon
In sad news because sobriety isn’t easy in a messy world that could inspire even the most Carrie Nation of a person to start guzzling booze and never stop, TMZ caught a masked Ben Affleck leaving the UNICEF Masquerade Ball at the La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood last night appearing to be fairly inebriated. If that WAS Ben Affleck. He was wearing a mask and that horrific back tattoo of his wasn’t visible. It could have been anyone!
In the footage, Ben briefly chats with his arm around a woman and then waits for his car. He’s visibly unsteady and then he has to use a nearby gas-guzzler for support so he doesn’t fall into the street and inspire a much much more somber blog post that’s already pretty damn somber.

This sucks because Ben has reportedly been focusing on maintaining his health and sobriety since his ex Jennifer Garner drove him to his last stint in rehab in August of last year. Most recently, he’s been using Buddhism to avoid the booze.
Ben had been attending wellness classes at an L.A. wellness center that specializes in “Buddhist ethics” where people who attend engage in meditation with a focus on healthy body, mind and spirit.
Ben also very recently used the rumors that he’s on the dating app Raya to talk about his sobriety:

A friend of Ben’s told People that sobriety is an ongoing journey that may include a slip-up here and there:
“Sobriety is difficult and elusive for everyone struggling with addiction. Ben has acknowledged he’s going to slip up from time to time. It was never as if this was simply behind him.”
Ben’s got some film projects in the works, including reuniting with bestie Matt Damon in their first big film together since they won their Oscars for 1997’s Good Will Hunting.
Other positives in Ben’s life include having managed to escape ever having to play Batman again and reuniting with friends Jay and Silent Bob once more! So hopefully, this was just a temporary setback in his sobriety. Although, not sure about the sobriety and the Jay and Silent Bob thing meshing that well.
