Iggy Azalea Has Been Trolling Lizzo On Twitter

Aside from still doing the music thing, Iggy Azalea is also very active on Twitter, and she recently decided to start some shit with Lizzo. Iggy & Lizzo doesn’t just sound like a BBC Kids show about talking reptiles, it’s also the stars of a petty social media feud.

This all started yesterday when Lizzo tweeted about the possibility of her current #1 hit “Truth Hurts” (aka the DNA test song) breaking the record for the longest female rap single at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The current record holder is Iggy’s “Fancy,” which spent seven weeks at #1.

Lizzo must have thought that her tweet sounded shady, so she clarified that she loves “Fancy,” she just wants to see “Truth Hurts” beat the record. The only problem is, she only shouted out Charli XCX, who sang the chorus and not the rap part. She also encouraged her fans to stream Charli’s record, out now! Know who else has a record out now? Iggy Azalea.

Naturally that pissed off Outback Barbie, who tweeted (and – according to Billboard – deleted) the following:

“I could have SWORN I was the one rapping that song but okay…”

When people started pointing out that Iggy looked like she was coming for Lizzo, she clarified that she was only sort-of coming for Lizzo.

Iggy is referring to earlier this summer when her album dropped on the same day Peppa Pig dropped her first album, and Iggy jokingly dragged Peppa for it.

Iggy was having a really good time on Twitter, and kept the “jokes” going by encouraging everyone to stream Shawn Mendes’ song “Senorita,” which is currently at the #2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Although by the look of the blatant misspelling in her reply, she was probably joking about that too.

If getting attention from trolling got you on the Billboard Hot 100, Iggy would have easily reclaimed her #1 spot. But she eventually decided that enough was enough, and she was done.

Lizzo has not responded back to Iggy, possibly because she’s too busy or possibly because she literally doesn’t know who Iggy is (after all, she does think “Fancy” is a Charli XCX song). But in the event Lizzo learns who Iggy is and decides to troll her right back, it should be pretty easy. She can also keep up the same game she played in the first place by trolling her without mentioning her name. All she has to do is correct that first tweet by saying:

“Hey everyone! I gave a shout-out to Charli, but I obviously failed to mention the rapper responsible for Fancy in my initial tweet. Skeme, you wrote a great song, love you!”
