Owen Wilson Hasn’t Met His Third Child Yet
About a month ago, Owen Wilson became a father for the third time when his on-and-off girlfriend Varunie Vongsvirates gave birth to a baby girl named Lyla Aranya. Owen found out he was the father after taking a paternity test. And it looks like a third-trimester paternity test is as close as he’s getting to his third child. A source tells UsWeekly that just because there’s a chance the baby’s first words will be “Oh wow“, doesn’t mean Owen wants much to do with it at the moment, if ever.
A source claims that Owen “refuses” to meet Lyla, and that back in June (around the time of the paternity test), he checked “no visitation” box on a court form regarding custody and visitation. Owen didn’t want any custody of Lyla either and doesn’t want to meet Lyla or have any kind of custody.
The source says that Varunie told Owen she was four months pregnant after the two returned home from a trip to Hawaii. Since then, Owen hasn’t spoken to Varunie. He reportedly didn’t speak to her during her pregnancy or after, and wasn’t present during the birth. Owen already has a 7-year-old son named Robert with Jade Duell, and a 4-year-old son named Finn with Caroline Lindqvist.
Owen and Varunie had a messy relationship timeline. Some sources claimed they dated for a bit in 2014, and she was most recently seen with Owen at the premiere of Father Figures last December. UsWeekly’s source claims that the two had been dating for almost five years.
UsWeekly reached out to Owen’s rep regarding this paternity train wreck, and they would only say: “This is a private matter and it’s not appropriate to comment further.”
Adding to this messiness is the possibility that maybe Owen doesn’t think Lyla is his daughter. When the paternity test came back, it stated that “the alleged father is not excluded as the biological father of the fetus.” That’s a whole lot more confusing than what we’re all used to, which is Maury’s cut-and-dry “you ARE the father.” The source made sure to tell UsWeekly that Lyla looks just like Owen, with fair skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair. It’s not known if Owen is supporting Lyla in any financial way. This story is depressing, so I’m going to choose to rewrite this story to better reflect the Owen we know from his movies. Okay, here goes – it’s not that he doesn’t want to see Lyla, it’s just that he’s confused as to how many kids and mothers he’s already got. “No, I did see my kid, last week! Are you talking about the one that’s kind of grown? Oh come on, I can’t keep them all straight, there’s so many.”
