Matt Lauer And Aziz Ansari Might Also Be Plotting Their Comebacks Too

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the What Allegations? 2018 Redemption Tour! Upcoming dates TBA, but we do know that the tour has begun and more performers have been added to the lineup. Louis C.K. kicked things off on Sunday night with a surprise visit to the Comedy Cellar in NYC, where he received a standing ovation. Rumored to be next up are Matt Lauer and Aziz Ansari.

Nine months after NBC fired Matt Lauer for allegedly sexually harassing co-workers, he’s ready to return to TV. Page Six says that Matt was recently spotted at a steakhouse in NYC, surrounded by a group of older ladies who reportedly told him: “We miss you!” The source claims Matt told the women that he’s been busy being a dad, and that they shouldn’t worry, because he’ll “be back on TV.

Matt has also been seen this summer having lunch with a senior Today show producer. That doesn’t necessarily mean Today is getting ready to bring him back. In fact, I highly doubt a return to Today. I’m pretty sure he’d have to fight Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, Thunderdome-style on the Rockefeller obversation deck, for that to happen.

Now onto the potential comeback of Aziz Ansari. In January, Babe.net published a story from a woman who claimed to have gone on a date with him in September that ended with her feeling pressured into sex. Aziz apologized for making her feel uncomfortable, and then disappeared for a while. Aziz’s friend Sarah Silverman, who had also rooted for her friend Louis C.K. to rebound, said she had hoped Aziz wouldlook inward” and “blossom” from his situation. It turns out Aziz’s blossoming has involved quietly playing pop-in stand-up shows.

Vulture says that Aziz has performed a few shows since May, most of them unannounced or abruptly announced. Last week he performed two shows in Wisconsin, both of which were sold out. He performed for just under an hour, and that his material never addressed the allegations that were made against him. He also reportedly looked “a bit older” than he did before the story broke in January. Do I smell a new Hollywood dermatologist treatment trend on the horizon? “Has hiding out from sexual misconduct allegations given you fine lines and wrinkles? You might be a candidate for the hottest new facial smoothing peel, the Creep Sweep.
