Mischa Barton Is Out Of The Hospital, Claims She Was Drugged
Social justice warrior Mischa Barton received the most press she’s gotten in awhile (since her character on The O.C. Marissa Cooper got run off the road and croaked) when she was hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation on January 26th.
The police rolled up on birthday girl Mischa’s apartment in West Hollywood at 7:15 AM on Thursday morning to investigate reports of a “disturbance.” Their official report stated that they found a “fully clothed” Mischa Barton “speaking in coherent statements.” She went to the hospital voluntarily. There’s a very good chance that Mischa didn’t snap her tether. Police might have just questioned a “fully clothed” Mischa’s sanity due to whatever she was wearing at the time.
People says that Mischa is now out of the psych ward and blaming the incident on being dosed with GHB (also known as the date rape drug) while out on the town with friends. Mischa Barton can afford cocktails that creepsters can drug? Did someone dose her Keystone Light at a 7-Eleven tailgate in Encino?
In a statement, Mischa warned all the ladies to watch their drinks.
“On the evening of the 25th, I went out with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday. While having drinks, I realized that something was not right as my behavior was becoming erratic and continued to intensify over the next several hours,” Barton said in the statement.
“I voluntarily went to get professional help, and I was informed by their staff that I had been given GHB. After an overnight stay, I am home and doing well,” the statement continued. “I would like to extend a big thanks of gratitude to the professionals at Cedars-Sinai for their great care and professionalism. This is a lesson to all young women out there, be aware of your surroundings.”
As necessary as it is to clown on messy Mischa Barton for being a Lindsay Lohan life understudy and depressed Where’s Waldo cosplayer, that GHB thing is no joke. It happens in the gay bars, too. People are the worst. You shouldn’t have to Saran Wrap your cocktail and employ some sort of baby monitor app when you go to take a leak!
