Sarah Jessica Parker has been accused of a lot of things. Being anal as fuck, being a huge bitch with a terrible personality (we see you, Kim Cattral) and even a snobby shoe saleswoman. Well, add another to the list: Jewel Thief.
According to Page Six, Sarah is being accused by jewelry brand Kat Florence Design of stealing accessories from them worth $149,501.96. Oh, bitch, you know they’re serious because they added that 96 cents! Didn’t even round up! That’s pointed.
Kat Florence Design is claiming that Sarah borrowed some pieces from them in 2016 after a photo shoot and never gave them back. They say that she asked if she could “personally borrow several pieces of the jewelry to wear for a few months and then return all the pieces.” They agreed to two months and Sarah has stretched that out to two years. The items borrowed include a ring worth $27,115 and earrings worth $40,706.72. Oh bitch, they did it again! Don’t forget that 72 cents, SJP!
Kat Florence filed a lawsuit against SJP in April after their joint-venture failed. Now they’re upping the ante and demanding $150,000 in “restitution”. The company’s attorney had this to say:
“It is our position in this case that after a photo shoot as part of the endorsement agreement, Ms. Parker requested that she could personally keep some of the pieces of the jewelry for a few months to wear personally. We agreed and documented what she had. This happened in March 2016. Over two years later, the jewelry was never returned to us. We believe that as Ms. Parker has kept the jewelry since 2016 that she should pay us for it.”
What does Miss SJP have to say about all of this mess? Lies, darling! They’re all lies! Her lawyer released this statement:
“This is just plain false. SJP was under contract to Kat Florence and was asked to keep the jewelry so that she could wear it on red carpets and other events when appropriate. Sarah Jessica Parker is as honest and trustworthy a person as anyone I have ever met. She has never and would never hold onto anything belonging to someone else. In fact, she has been asking ever since Kat Florence wrongfully stopped paying her to have the pieces returned, but Kat Florence didn’t seem terribly interested in getting them back.”
As for the other legal battle with Kat Florence, Sarah filed a countersuit to theirs in July where she said that she fulfilled all of her contractual obligations to the brand but that they didn’t pay her for her high-class efforts.
Who knew that SJP actually stands for “Serious Jewel Pilferer”? But maybe it was her way of balancing the scales? Since they didn’t pay her enough for her contractual obligations? That I would believe. I can totally picture SJP sitting at her laptop typing: “And I wondered to myself: If they already loaned all these jewels to me, should I just fucking keep them?”
