Elle Fanning And Max Minghella Are Possibly An Item

Elle Fanning and actor/director Max Minghella might be a thing. Last year, Elle posted the above photo of the pair rocking matching sweatpants while filming Teen Spirit together back in August 2017, and this week People‘s got strong evidence of their alleged coupledom by way of a photo of Max wearing sweatpants while strolling with Elle around London.

Based on this sweatpants heavy photojournalism, we can deduce much, as there’s only a few reasons people should wear sweatpants out in public, such as taking out the rubbish and buying scratch tickets. So according to expert analysis, it looks like Elle and Max have already reached sweatpants levels of post-romantic status. Read what People has to say and you decide.

The actress, 20, sparked dating rumors as she was spotted looking cozy next to The Handmaid’s Tale actor Max Minghella while taking a stroll in London.

The duo shared a laugh as Minghella, 32, looked down at his phone in a navy sweatshirt and jacket, sweatpants and sneakers.

Fanning sported a black trench coat, a black dress and black sandals as well as a light blue Louis Vuitton purse as she placed one arm around Minghella’s back and another on his shoulder.

Reps for both actors did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

For those of you not currently obsessed with the Handmaid’s Tale, Max plays the starring role of Nick Blaine, originated by Aidan Quinn in the movie. His dad was director Anthony Minghella, who specialized in directing the movies that make you ugly snot cry (see: The English Patient and The Reader). It’s believed that Max and Elle met working on Teen Spirit, which Max wrote and directed and in which Elle stars. Lord, Teen Spirit better not be a gender-bending rendering of the life and times of Kurt Cobain. On second thought, I hope it is!

There’s not a lot of info on this new couple (can we call them “HellaElf“?), other than the fact that Elle has been working in London filming Maleficent 2 with Angelina Jolie (that must be a happy set these days) and Max lives in London, so the two actors have the proximity to roll their parts around on each other if they so desire.

This new potential couple alert is slightly more exciting than your usual raisin sprinkled oatmeal (see Prattenegger), but packing none of the potential punch of the excitement of a Brangelina size divorce spectacle. Is HellaElf one to watch? Stay tuned.
