Ed Sheeran Says ‘Yonce Changes Her Email Every Week

Someone in Destiny’s Child must have been sending Beyoncé one too many of those “If you don’t forward this to 18 people in the next hour, a hurricane will come and destroy you” emails, because Ed Sheeran says he has to start each week getting Queen B’s new Gmail address.

Entertainment Tonight sat down with Ed to discuss “Perfect,” his new duet with ‘Yonce, and he said it’s not like you can just Paypal some cash her way, and she’ll show up to sing some lyrics on a track. This isn’t Nicki Minaj we’re talking about! He said it takes some effort:

“I have an email address that I email that actually changes every week. It’s kind of like what I aspire to be I think. So I emailed that and we got on the phone.”

Well, that’s certainly one way to make sure #poorMichelle doesn’t rope you into another gospel track! Imagine the frustration of starting your week and not getting the update as to what Beyoncé has changed NalaSlayzSoprano@gmail.com to! Kim Kardashian, tell us! What did it feel like?!

As a shock to nobody, Bey doesn’t exactly collaborate on a song so much as she comes in and tells you how shit is gonna go down:

“She rung me up and was like, ‘I don’t know how you feel about this but I’ve taken all the instruments off it and it’s just gonna be acoustic guitar,’ and I was like, ‘Ah, that’s great, because it used to be that!’”

Ed said they sat around in the studio chatting about what they wanted to do with the song, and then the divine lungs expanded, Bey went in and did her thang, and she pulled the most Beyoncé stunt the Beyhive could fathom:

“She was just like, ‘Right!’ Went in, one take, came out, like, ‘Yeah, that sounds all right!’”

One take? Didn’t her elementary school math teacher ever tell her to go back and check her work?! Practice and do-overs make perfect, Bey! And Album of the Year Grammys.
