DJ Spinderella Really Doesn’t Like Being Left Out Of The Making Of Lifetime’s Salt-N-Pepa Biopic
Despite her name not appearing in the name of the band, DJ Spinderella (aka Deidra Roper) was an integral part of Salt-N-Pepa’s success. After all, without her, who would they have shouted at to cut it up one time at the beginning of their seminal hit, “Let’s Talk About Sex“? Still, Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton were obviously ok with just any old random person hitting “play” on their laptop to cue up a 100% nasty 90s R&B beat, because they fired Spinderella back in 2019. Then Spinderella sued Salt and Pepa for back pay, which she claims she was scammed out of. The lawsuit entered mediation, and the whole situation was a mess. And because of the legal mess, Spinderella was left out of the making of Salt-N-Pepa. And she’s more than a little pissed off about that.
Spinderella’s Lawsuit Against Salt-N-Pepa Is Going To Mediation
Spinderella claims that after years and years of cutting it up one time, she was fired from Salt-N-Pepa in January through an e-mail right before they were about to go on tour with New Kids on the Block. Spin claims that Salt-N-Pepa owes her lots of money in unpaid royalties so she sued their alleged scamming asses, and recently asked a judge to give her immediate relief, but instead, the judge decided to extend this messiness by ordering it into mediation.
