Vanessa Morgan Of “Riverdale” Reveals She’s Paid The Least Among The Regulars

June 3, 2020 / Posted by:

Vanessa Morgan, the only Black regular on Riverdale, decided to share details about the inequality she experiences on the show. Over the weekend she took to Twitter to reveal she’s sick of Riverdale writers sidelining the few Black characters, and that she’s well aware that she’s the least paid of all of the regulars. Skeet Ulrich Admits He Quit “Riverdale” Because It Got Boring

May 21, 2020 / Posted by:

For a generation of Gen X and Millennial youths, Skeet Ulrich was hot dirtbag Billy from Scream or hot dirtbag Chris from The Craft. But to the youths of Gen Z, Skeet is Jughead Jones’ hot dirtbag dad on Riverdale. At least, he was for the first four seasons of Riverdale. In February, Skeet announced he was done playing Daddy Jones, which was bad news for the creators of Riverdale, who were now tasked with pulling off television’s least-successful casting challenge, the Darrin Stephens switcheroo.

Skeet’s reason for leaving was very mysterious and mildly dramatic. But Skeet has recently explained why he wasn’t returning to Riverdale, and basically, he didn’t want to be bored out of his greasy skull any longer.

Kelly Ripa Will Play Her Husband’s Mistress On “Riverdale”

November 7, 2018 / Posted by:

Here’s one for all the haters that told Kelly Ripa she was too old to get with Mark Consuelos. Not only is she getting with him in real life as his wife, but TV Line is reporting that Kelly will be hooking up with Mark on Riverdale as his mistress.

Mark plays Hiram Lodge, father of Veronica Lodge, who is (SPOILER ALERT) currently locked up. His wife is Hermione Lodge. Kelly will play a character called Mrs. Mulwray, and she’ll appear on tonight’s episode. The CW confirmed the news, saying:

“Kelly Ripa will guest star on Riverdale as MRS. MULWRAY: Confident and tough, she is Hiram Lodge’s alleged mistress. She’s a beautiful, icy, femme fatale who gets caught up in a conspiracy that’s much bigger than she initially realized.”

Kelly and Michael’s 21-year-old son Michael Consuelos will also appear on the episode. He’ll be in a flashback to the 90’s and will play a younger version of his dad. Kelly posted the news on Instagram yesterday (with Mark reportedly commentingYes please“) with her looking like the least popular cast member of Real Home Wreckers of Riverdale.

What The CW forgot to add was anything about how this is the most obvious example of shameless stunt casting in the history of The CW. I’m pretty sure The CW’s main audience is still about 9 months away from their learner’s permit, and here they are, courting all their moms. Don’t tell me I’m wrong on this one: you know at least 98% of the Live With Kelly and Ryan audience have been dreaming of watching Kelly get nasty with Mark ever since they watched all that PG-rated role playing on last month’s Halloween episode.

Barb From “Stranger Things” Has Come Out As Bi

April 19, 2017 / Posted by:

Shannon Purser, who was Barb on Stranger Things and plays Ethel Muggs on Riverdale, came out as bisexual on Twitter yesterday. 19-year-old Shannon declared her love of both peen and poon after fighting with Riverdale fans on Twitter about whether or not the show partakes in queerbaiting. In the show’s first episode, Betty and Veronica kiss during cheerleading tryouts. They never go beyond that kiss and they never get into a relationship or anything. To me that kiss (yes, I watch Riverdale) was purely meant to be shocking since they did it to make the cheer team. Some fans didn’t like that the show shamelessly used faux-lesbian shit for ratings and had no intention of developing a real and organic relationship between Betty and Veronica.

The drama all started when Cole Sprouse (who plays Jughead Jones on Riverdale) burped up a tweet (that he later deleted) about how the show’s haters are either eggs or “someone who looks like they graduated Hogwarts with a magical liberal arts degree.” Shannon burped up a response to his tweet (which she also deleted) by telling him not to forget “angry Beronica stans” (aka fans who want Betty and Veronica to get together).
