Hailey Bieber Thanked Selena Gomez For Asking Her Fans To Stand Down, And Selena Was Spotted Kissing Zayn Malik
On Friday, Selena Gomez valiantly posted an Instagram Story ordering her fans to stop hating on her arch-rival Hailey Bieber. 30-year-old Selena explained that 26-year-old Hailey had reached out to her and shared that she’d been receiving death threats since their feud re-ignited in February because of her and Kylie Jenner’s eyebrow videos. I know, I know. The kids are not alright. After Selena posted her very serious Instagram Story, BuzzFeed reports that Hailey responded with a Story of her own. While Hailey probably wanted to write something like, “Fuck Selena, she can eat my nepo baby ass!” she took the high road and thanked Selena for “speaking out.”

I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I.
The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this, which is extremely harmful. While social media is an incredible way to connect and build community, moments like this only create extreme division instead of bringing people together.
Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. We all need to be more thoughtful about what we post and what we say, including myself. In the end, I believe love will always be bigger than hate and negativity, and there is always an opportunity to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.
Wow. So many words. In other Selena news, Entertainment Tonight reports that she was spotted kissing Zayn Malik on a dinner date. Dear Jesus, Selena! Zayn Malik? Who was dropped by his record label for allegedly striking his ex, Gigi Hadid’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, and calling her a “fucking Dutch slut”? Who got into a shirtless fight outside of a bar a few months before that? Apparently, yes. It’s that Zayn Malik:
An eyewitness tells ET, “Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurantgoers didn’t notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date.”

OK, so if Selena is romantically involved with Zayn, how does this affect the spiderweb of young Hollywood romances, feuds, and friendships? Well, Zayn has a baby with Gigi Hadid. Gigi is buds with Taylor Swift, who is long-time besties with Selena. Ipso facto, Gigi, and Selena have hung out together in the past. However, Selena also dated Gigi’s sister Bella Hadid’s ex, The Weeknd, from 2017-2018. So it looks like Ms. Gomez has a thing for Hadid cast-offs. Now, can we connect any of this to Hailey Bieber? We sure can try! Hailey is best friends with Kendall and Kylie Jenner, who are buds with the Hadids. Hailey also counts Gigi and Bella as friends. At the end of the day, it appears the Jenners and Hadids lean toward Team Hailey, and Taylor Swift is firmly Team Selena/anti-Justin and Hailey Bieber (with a soft spot for Gigi Hadid). Now, have we learned anything from this paragraph? Not really. Except there’s a very good chance all of these people are huge narcissists who secretly hate each other. Hey, just like my friends!
For now, Feud: Selena Vs. Hailey is on hiatus. But if I know my girls (full disclosure: I really don’t), they’ll be back at it again in no time. Hailey will post something seemingly innocuous, like a video of her eating a steak and kidney pie. Then the kids will scream, “ATTACK ON SELENA! #RespectSelena! #DieHaileyDie!!” Then Selena will comment something shady, let her stans lose their minds for a few weeks, and eventually jump back on her high horse with a post that says, “Bullying is BAD.” It’s the circle of life!
