Open Post: Hosted By Ralphie The Demon Dog’s Happy Ending

When we last checked in with Ralphie the “demon dog” of Niagara, he had bullied his adopted home so much that the boy got put into reform school. Don’t let the adorable face fool you. Ralphie is a certified “whole jerk-not even half.” Well, he WAS a whole jerk. After spending time in the big house, Ralphie has cleaned up his act! Not only that, but he’s also found his forever home!

The Niagara SPCA didn’t have “too many nice things to say” about Ralphie because he was a terror. He was eventually adopted, but sadly because of his jerk-ish ways, he was un-adopted. At their wit’s end, the shelter shipped Ralphie off to the dog version of military school. And instead of getting hazed and developing PTSD, the pup got himself a brand new attitude! via People:

Over several weeks Ralphie worked with Fiels and progressed through his training program.

“Towards the end of the first week, you could see improvement in his engagement skills and desire to work with a human,” Fiels said, adding that he and Ralphie focused on “structured work, walks, proper play, and socializing.”

Now Ralphie is doing “very well” and is ready to continue his progress with his new family, according to the dog’s trainer.

And thanks to the hard work of the reform school, Ralphie was able to find a new home.

“Ralphie’s new family will help him by just simply providing the proper structure and making sure he meets his physical and mental needs,” he added. “He is a strong-willed dog, like most bulldogs, but under the proper guidance, he will thrive and live a very fulfilling life.”

Ralphie’s new pet parent is a dog owner named Jason, the Niagara SPCA shared in its Facebook post.

It’s a classic case of bad dog gone good boy. I think we can all learn something very important from Ralphie’s tale. If there’s someone in your life who is rude, horrible, and bites you occasionally, just trade them in for a reform school dog!
