Keke Palmer Has Given Birth To A Baby Boy And The Reviews About His Name Are Mixed

We are all officially old as hell because Keke Palmer, who I still think of as the spelling champ cutie from Akeelah and the Bee, is not only turning thirty this year, she also gave birth to her first child over the weekend. Please pass me the Metamucil and vodka so I can toast to this happy occasion. And of course, there were a few who were disappointed about Keke and her man Darius Jackson‘s decision to name their newborn son Leodis Andrellton Jackson. But hit back.

According to People, Keke gave birth to little baby Leo on February 25, and Darius was right by her side cheering her on before their son with the 1960s protest organizer name burst into the world as ‘Say It Loud‘ by James Brown triumphantly played in the background. Because hey, it IS still Black History Month, after all, so throw your fists up one time for baby Leo!

The Emmy Award winner, 29, announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy they named Leodis “Leo” Andrellton on Monday.

The mom of 48 hours excitedly shared some of their first family photos together on Instagram after welcoming their newborn son.

“Hey Son!!!!” Palmer wrote, adding: “Born during Black History Month, with a name to match! LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”

In the first slide, she shared a snap of what the couple looks like after “only 48hrs of being parents!” In the next slide, she shared a video of herself singing “Someone” by El Debarge to Jackson in the car after he included the track in some playlists for her when they started dating.

“We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God!” Palmer wrote.

Of course, Keke’s fans have been waiting for this moment since she revealed she was with child, and they couldn’t wait to congratulate and comment on little Leo’s name as soon as they got the chance. Some are loving Keke’s name choice;

While others wish she would have picked something resumé approved like Billy or Joey:

And what’s Keke’s take on all of this? She’s too busy doting on little Leo to be bothered by anyone’s negativity about his name. Though Page Six reports she took a moment to joke with one of her followers.

After the actress debuted Leodis Andrelton Jackson via Instagram on Monday, a Twitter user promptly poked fun at the infant’s moniker.

“That name sound like it led a civil rights march,” the tweet read.

The “Nope” star replied, “It’s giving I marched with Martin [Luther King Jr.], purrrr.”

Welcome to the world, Little Leo! It ain’t summertime yet, but just know your mama’s rich and your daddy’s good lookin’. And we all need to prepare for Keke to flood our timelines with everything Leo does, from his first coo to his first burp. But honestly, that’s the cuteness overload the world really needs right about now.
