Candace Cameron Bure reminded everyone she won’t be flying any rainbow flags over at her new network Great American Family EVER because she wants to focus on “traditional marriage “or some bullshit. Candace was asked during a Wall Street Journal interview if GAC would ever make a Christmas movie starring a same-sex couple. Kirk Cameron’s sister in blood and sanctimony burped out, “I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core.” In response to that, Hilarie Burton came out swinging with words of support for the LGBTQ+ community. Now Candace’s summertime arch-nemesis JoJo Siwa is ready for tound two, expressing her disappointment. But this time, she’s receiving assistance from Candace’s Fuller House co-star Jodie Sweetin, who basically took one look at the WSJ interview and immediately said, “How Rude!”
People reports that Hilarie isn’t the only one who found Candace’s comments disgusting, but I don’t know why anyone is surprised. Candace is about as likable as a root canal and just as unwelcomed for many people, including JoJo. After JoJo and Candace’s previous back-and-forth exchange about Candace being the rudest celebrity she’s ever met, it seemed like they’d both moved forward on good terms. But once JoJo learned of Candace’s latest word vomit, she decided to drag DJ Tanner some more:
Siwa — who has identified as queer since January 2021 and had a high-profile back-and-forth with Cameron Bure over the summer — wrote on Instagram: “Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people.”
Many people gave JoJo words of praise after she nailed Candace to the cross, and she even received support from former Dance Moms alum Maddie Ziegler. This is when Jodie swooped in to join the conversation. And rather than side with Candy, she lent support to JoJo by offering words of love instead.

Go, Stephanie Tanner, go! But I won’t be satisfied until Candace has to learn her lesson like Ebenezer Scrooge and is visited by a few ghosts in the middle of the night for the timely lesson of being kinder. Only in this case, instead of ghosts, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen should suddenly appear at the foot of her bed while she’s asleep to startle the hell out of her. Honestly, that would scare anyone.
UPDATE: Candace Cameron responded to this by playing the victim, blaming the media, and saying a whole lot of nothing:
